I know it's dropped out of the album charts, but how many copies has it sold thus far? All I can find online is first week sales...

Between 75~80k.
After 18 months Arrival got to around 170k sold. I'm not sure if Eclipse will get there or not. We'll have to see after the second part of the tour in 2012. Arrival had the luxury of being a Sony product that could be discounted by multiple distributors and that helped puff up the numbers late in its shelf life to get over 300k sold. With the way CD sales are going, I don't think that will ever happen for Eclipse.Pelata wrote:Don wrote:Pelata wrote:...but I plan to this week.

Ok cool...thanks. Is that back down to Arrival/Generations numbers then?

Where do you find this info? I would love to know where to look to see how a certain album has done so far.

If it hasn't sold more than 50,000 copies, no.

Pacfanweb wrote:Question: Wasn't Revelation packaged with re-recorded Perry hits and a DVD?
I think that probably had more to do with it selling than the actual new material it had, JMHO.

The package was a phenomenal deal and the promo was off the charts, but I don't those re-records, the same ones that most casual Journey fans already had, made anyone buy the album.

Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed.

Journey's track record of selling new material (or more accurately, NOT selling new material) proves this wrong. Revelation was a hit because Glee and Sopranos raised their profile. Get rid of the hits, and we'd be looking at Eclipse like numbers or worse.
Saint John wrote:You're not comparing apples to apples, though. More accurately, get rid of Revelation's promo on Oprah, Ellen and CBS, its GQ exposure, its 2 charting singles (especially AATY), its exceptional 3 disc pricing and the "story" traveling around the music world, and then you'd have Eclipse-like numbers. You're acting as though Eclipse had the same promo, the same 3 disc package and the same pricing. It didn't.
