Journey's Greatest Hits Vol 2 - the long awaited follow up to Greatest Hits Vol 1 - is coming your way on vinyl, CD and as a digital download. And that's not all! Greatest Hits Vol 1 and Steve Perry's Street Talk have also been remastered and will be available as a digital download and on vinyl. The special gatefold double 180-gram virgin vinyl edition of GH Vol 1 & 2 and Street Talk will be available on Nov 1, 2011 along with the CD of GH Vol 2.

For a guy that has no label, it sure sounds like Steve and Sony have a great working relationship these days.

X-Factor premieres in September. It's a Sony show all the way. Perry may have declined Randy's invitation to be on Idol but if Sony asks him to put out a little pub for this new GH release on Simon's show, It would be a great way to glide back into the public's eye.

Sony and Perry have always had a great material, just not when it came to releasing solo material post 1986.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

Well, they are both in the same boat now. How best to capitalize off of their former band/ client's renewed success by utilizing the material that they have under their keeping.
