Neal vetoed them. I would like to hear them. Anyone got a clue what they were like?
Bonus tracks, perhaps?
Next Album?
Maybe if they decide to promote the album properly, there can be a re-release and those be included.

I'll bet they were good. When it comes to ballads, Cain is one of the best.

Where did you get this info from? Just curious...

I read a recent interview, but I didn't book mark it. I'm trying to find the link as I type this. Really, this should come as no surprise to anyone, given Neal's
let's say, tunnel vision for this album. That was what part of the strife was about. If I don't find it, it will come out anyway, it always does.
Edit: Don found it. Thanks! And I always take "a few" to mean 3 or more.

Wow, we heard about the conflict during sessions, but this is more info that has come out. Neal just can't keep his mouth shut

. Oh, well, they're probably saving those 3 ballads for the next album

.

Annie, I think Neal literally had to go to war to get this album pressed the way he wanted it. I hope it didn't tarnish he and Jon's relationship and I doubt that it did. Those two dudes are pretty close. I'm sure both sides felt some sting.

Nah, Cain seems as committed now as he ever was to Neal based on recent interviews.

I am glad they were not on the album. Like Neal stated "Why keep making the same album over an over". Anyway, should there be another new CD, I am sure it will be back to the normal formula. I for one am happy Neal finally got his way on at least one record. If Eclipse becomes the final Journey recording, then at least they went out on a high note for my tastes.

Yeah, I'm glad that they weren't on the album either. A mostly Hard-Rocking album was long overdue!

I don't see Eclipse to be the 'hard' album people try to make it out to be. The only 'hard' and heavier rockers on the CD is Edge Of The Moment and Resonate. Other than that, tunes like Chain of Love have a more darker mood to it with heavy guitars but not necc heavy in nature, just flash's. City of Hope is your typical melodic-like rock opener for any Journey CD. Tantra fits in the darker, but slower feel. Anything Is Possible isn't hard, sounds 100% Journey to me. She's A Mystery sure is a slower but refreshing take, nowhere NEAR heavy until 6 minutes in. Ritual is your usual Journey sound as well as To Whom It May Concern and Someone. Human Feel sounds like it came straight off of Arrival so I don't see the "heavyness" most people view this album. Eclipse is more of a moodier/edgier technique for me.

Agreed.
People start bathing themselves in shadenfreude here any time something happens with this band be it the creative process or live setting.
"Neal and Jon hate eachother!!! AH HA!!!!!!!

DEEN'S NOT SINGING!!!!!!

AUGERI MUST BE COMING BACK TO REPLACE ARNEL!!!!!!!!

If anyone could've found out, that'd be you. You couldve asked Neal this morning when you got out of bed

Only thing they have to do is come out with some Greatest Hits package, post-Perry, and slap those songs on it.

While I am of the belief that the world does not need another Journey ballad, I also would like to here these at some point.
I just hope they're not the "wedding song" variety that showed up on Arrival.

If they're like "Live And Breathe", "Kiss Me Softly" or "Turn Down The World Tonight" then bring them on....

With JC in Nashville now, these songs may eventually go to some big pop/country act. Who knows.
