During the last few seconds, the aerial shot of the stadium; what city is in the background? A friend and I are arguing about this.

The stadium is JFK stadium in Philadelphia, the same place Live Aid was held.

A scorcher that day, and humid as hell also. The benches were so hot I remember tying one of those Journey baseball shirts around my waist to cushion my ass from the heat.
First up was Bryan Adams, then the Tubes (who were outstanding and got the crowd totally pumped up), John Cougar, Sammy Hagar and finally Journey.
Adams came back two years later as a big star and played at Live Aid there. He said JFK was one of his favorite places to play in the states and that he was very disappointed when it was torn down.

Actually, the aerial shot is a bit misleading....the video itself (along with the live concert footage from Frontiers and Beyond) were shot at JFK in Philly. However, the scene at the end when the camera pans back to show the aerial shot of the stadium is not JFK. JFK was a HUGE horseshoe shaped stadium. I should know, I lived three blocks from it when I was a kid. I believe the aerial shot is of Soldier Field in Chicago. I could never figure out why the did this, as the capacity crowd in JFK was humongous and impressive on its own.
Cotton Bown in Dallas.

I'm going with Cotton Bowl. Could swear that I've heard Soldier Field, but looking at aerial shots, the Cotton Bowl looks to be it. Plus, Wikipedia lists that Journey shot two videos there in the '80s. So it has to be true, right?
Wherever it is, it ain't an aerial shot of JKF!

The pics I posted above are the Cotton Bowl and the still shot from the SHML video. It seems obvious to me it's the same place.

I never noticed it either.
That place, the Gexa Energy Pavilion (formerly Smirnoff and Starplex) and Fair Park are in a ROUGH neighborhood. There are some crazy looking people that offer their yards and driveways for you to park in for less than the venue charges. I'll pay the venue price, thank you very much.
