Houston: Hands-down Mother Father is absolute perfection!

2001: La Raza Del Sol (Always liked that song and they nail it here.)

Vegas: After All These Years (Our very first taste of what the new ballads would sound like with Arnel at the helm. I was very impressed the first time I heard it.)

Manila: What I Needed (Arnel damn-near replicates the studio version of the song. So much passion and every note is dead-on perfect!)

Yup! The thing I love about that performance of Higher Place is there's no question in my mind that Deen is doing everything in his power to destroy his kit! I've never seen him hit his drums as hard prior nor since that particular performance. If you watch him closely (and there's a lot of him on film during that song) he's literally gritting his teeth and slamming his sticks down onto the heads as hard as he can. It speaks volumes about the quality of that kit and its hardware!

Seriously...? No one besides Gideon has an opinion about this? I find that very hard to believe.

2001: Ask the Lonely. 2nd Faithfully for how 'poetic' it was to leave Augeri alone on stage in front of what were then his new fans, cuz of the understood magnitude of replacing Perry. AND La Raza del Sol a close third... they do hit this one out of the park.

Revelation: N/A (haven't seen it, or cared for it enough)

Manila: Turn Down the World Tonight.. Fav song on Revelation and is what I think still, even after the great songs on Eclipse, their best song post-Perry. 2nd would have to be Never Walk Away.

only thing i would add is the Guitar solo from 2001, THE MELODIC PART IS MIND BLOWING that was cool.
The guitar work is amazing on What I Needed.

Mother Father Houston Show is the best performance EVER!

Oh, and I forgot Neal's solo on the Manila dvd. It floored everyone in the house when we watched it.

It's nice to be reminded of the chemistry that they once shared though. Even though musically it may not be perfect, I enjoyed watching it.

I personally don't hear anything that immediately makes me think of La Raza but that's just me. Neal is FAMOUSLY NOTORIOUS for robbing licks/runs, etc. from himself whether it's from Journey to Neal Schon or vice verse. Just as a for instance (and this is the first one that came to mind but there are at least a dozen....) check out the intros to these two songs.

Wow, what a freakin' treat to finally put video to a song (2 songs obviously...) the version of which I prefer over all others live or studio, that I've been listening to for what.... over 30 years now?

Unfortunately, I never saw the band with SP. You have no idea how much I regret that - not a clue. And before there was the kind of access to media like we've had for the past 15 years or so, all the live versions of the songs were accompanied by the "video" I imagined in my head - God, that didn't sound as weird in my head..... Over the years as I've gotten to finally put video to the audio it brings somewhat a sense of completion and closure for me.

I saw them with Perry four times. Two times for the Escape album and twice for Frontiers. Once with Arnel in 2008. I've seen Neal on a solo tour and Steve Smith with Hiromi and Anthony Jackson.

I don't see myself going to another Journey show anytime soon but if Gregg Rolie comes by again, I'll try my best to check him out.

Whitesnake was worth the 35.00 I spent....Coverdale (although not with near the range he had) was the frontman you would expect...and the guitars were unbelievable....really good show. Small venue helped for me...I love being where you can actually see the band...last year Bon Jovi at Gillette was like watching a TV screen...it was good but I like the small venue.
