Of course people posted some nasty things on his personal page and he took it down but there are more than a few people pissed including Judy Kozan on there. It really is a shame he doesn't think sometimes. I feel the most sorry for Amber's adorable kids!

Criticizing his selfish decision is one thing. Attacking him with "u suck" and "I hate you!" like Neal cheated on them is absolutely fucking stupid.

. That is so true. He is an idiot for making the decision but taking it personally is rather dumb. I just feel sorry for the kids but I would feel that way no matter who is was doing the cheatiing

I'm not for using public arenas like Facebook to post hate messages, no matter how strongly people feel. I do know now from personal experience that what you read doesn't always reflect the truth, and forming opinions based on the news coverage alone isn't going to anywhere close to fair. It's just like the situation in the Middle East - any soldier I've known who served in Irag tells me the reality there is nothing like the news portrays it. Same thing here.

To me, adultery is adultery, no matter the reason or source of incitement. And while I disapprove, that's Neal's personal life.

You would be right. Judy is Amber's mom. There's an article on her in wikipedia I believe.. I missed whatever Judy posted on Neal's page :/

Cyndi Lauper was on 'Celebrity Apprentice' last year or two, and there were some that didn't get along with her and complained that she's not the girl that was on their childhood posters or that they heard on the radio. I think she said something like, "Never meet your idols because they're probably not who you always thought they were."

And there's so much truth in that - good or bad. To her point, all we really know about a celebrity/artist/etc, is what see in the press, read in interviews, or gleaned from that two minutes of meet & greet...which is basically nothing.

All these people that are now renouncing their fan status for Neal Schon were probably just vicarious losers to begin with. Whether or not, Schon, personally, is today who he's always been, matters not. People should be fans of the music & the artist's talent. Nothing more.

u can read what Judy said on his site but basically she didn't think Neal could hurt amber anymore but she was wrong and amber is having to shield the kids from this at school.

No, I'm not an advocate of the that particular theory. I'm in the Carl Sagan camp of believing that there is an abundance of life out in there in the universe but I don't believe they have visited us/jumpstarted our civilizations.

Oh yeah, I think so. If she's coat-tailing on the current Journey fame, and he's keeping her in the press; and they're both feeding off of it, then certainly do your best Mad Magazine all you want. But all the fan-hate is just pure bulls#it.

Obviously, time will tell. When the ride is over, and (if) they're still together, then more power too them. But the real question is, what will it do to 'Journey'? Hopefully for the band, et al, it will result in more album sales...and a perpetuation of sorts for all of them. Right or wrong, notoriety does sell. And, can the current lineup swing this publicity into support of the next album/tour. (Are they even doing it now?)

But I do wonder, as Perry objected to DSB being used in 'The Sopranos', if someone was getting whacked...does he have similiar feelings about the current NS situation? In other words, if Perry thinks that NS' personal life is 'whacking' the Journey legacy/reputation, then there could be new angles on his participation in the catalog...not to mention, any (whatever) reconciliation at all.

And what about Steve Augeri? Does he have any consent if 'Arrival' is re-done? He'll probably never say no to NS, even if he could. But I'm sure he's got an opinion on how NS' personal life could be affecting Journey. Funny, going back 15 yrs, he might have some insight.
