Who's band is it really?

We say it's Neal's band, but in taking a closer look, it becomes apparent that one former band member who still gets paid quite handsomely does not have to work and therefore chooses not to. Then we look at who owns and controls most of the venues where Journey plays. It would seem Irving Azoff and Steve Perry overpower Neal Schon by a long shot. Then there is the back catalog, the most important part of which is owned by Sony. Wouldn't that really make Neal the bitch of the previously mentioned three?

That explains a lot to me as far as why few of Journey's latest efforts get played in concert.

It's totally Neal's band now. Cain really let go of the reins this year.

Journey is done.
NS is finally getting his 15 minutes of fame right now...this year...whatever.
All in all, this too shall pass.

AP will go home. But we'll see him do a few things...kinda like SA.
RV & DC will go wherever.
NS will keep doing his own thing...maybe with DC in tow.
JC will make his way in Nashville.
SP will still get paid.
Records will continue to sell. No doubt.

later~

They're going to tour next year but the Asian leg is no longer a sure thing.

Hmmm, that post is deja vu. Journey is like a coach's nightmare kid who keeps kicking the ball off the side of his foot. The have had plenty of opportunity to get it right. AP should get picked up by another great band or an up and coming start up.

The Zoo is Arnel's band! Actually they're not a bad band, but they need Jack Blades to get some song writing done.

If Perry and Azoff were truly in charge, Neal's name wouldn't be plastered all over the tabloids. :)
