If Donna Summer gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before Journey does. Have you seen the 2012 nominees?

Donna can sing her ass of, but what does she have to do with rock and roll?

Heart is nominated and I think should get in, but not before Journey. It would be nice for Journey to say that the band that had been opening for them got into the hall before they do.

What a sad joke that place has become.

Grandmaster Flash
Abba
Madonna
Now maybe Donna Summer

I wish they'd be more honest, but "Popular Music Hall of Fame" doesn't have the same 'street cred' that Rolling Stone Mag so desperately desires.

Stop equating our own personal definitions of "Rock And Roll" with this bullshit HOF.

"Rock And Roll" as a culture-term casts a wide net grabbing everything from Rockabilly to Blues to Soul to R&B to Pop. Even back in the day, Buddy Holly did not sound like Big Bopper did not sound like Brenda Lee...but it was all called Rock And Roll.

Plus, the HOF is run by know-it-all critic types who have a deeply rooted hatred for certain bands/types of music. At this point, any of our favorites getting in (Rush, Kiss, Journey, Deep Purple, etc) would be the emptiest of gestures and mean absolute zero...so screw 'em.

Talking about the R&RHOF is pointless.

My sentiments exactly. As Billy Joel said, "Hot funk, cool punk, even if it's old junk It's still rock and roll to me." And to some, that's how they see it. anything that doesn't fall under the realm of Country, Classical or Zamfir   gets heaped into the classification of R&R. Pity that it's that way because it has allowed for the desecration of what the Hall could have and should have been. Imagine if it truly were the R&R HOF?! What an absolute honor it would actually be for those elected to join the ranks of their brethren and in many cases their idols. Instead......

For both Rush and Journey to not be in their Hall Of Fame is just ridiculous. Both bands have been putting out music for almost 4 decades, that alone should get them almost in. There aren't many bands who can make that claim. Then when you factor in all of the hit songs and albums it should be a no brainer. Obviously the place is run by people who have their own agenda.

I've seen some of the names that have been inducted while these two (and I would add Boston), are left out and it makes the whole thing just a sham.
