After seeing the tour in West Palm this year it got me thinking about the difference between the bands concert from Arrival to the Elcipse tour.. The Arival tour was a 3 act set with John Waite and Frampton.. Show started at 7 same as this year and Journey went on @ 9.. Frampton played an hour,, Ihave the Arrival WPM show on CD so I need to pull the setlist but what I do remember is they played alot of Songs they did 4 from Arrival...Higher Place, Signs of Life, I got A Reason and one other, they also did Feeling that Way/Anytime and Remember Me and opened with Message of Love.. plus the dirty dozen.. It was about 20 songs..Im going to listen to the CD tomorrow and get the set list. What they also did on that tour was play almost every song off of the CD on the entire tour. They kept the concert moving and fans were into it a bit more IMO...
I do know that their were issues with the Promotion of Arrival and it wasnt marketed that way and it was Journeys first CD in awhile. It would seem with the positive direction the band was heading this year after Revelation they could have capitlized a bit more. With a bigger set list the new songs wouldnt have seemed forced. If you are playing 20 songs and do 3 or 4 new songs, the dirty dozen plus a few deeper cuts then Everyone is happy. So this thing about not enough time is kindda thrown out the window.. The show I saw Night Ranger started @ 6:55. Forgeiner came on @ 7:50 and Journey aboout 9:15. They could hustle things up to get Journey on the stage by 9.. The stage was ready about 8:55 and Journey waited about 20 minutes then NEal came on and did a 3 minute intro to Seperate Ways....Let Majestic roll and jam right intio SW after it ends.
I will post set list some time tomorrow

Upload the West Palm show onto YouTube. There's no audio/video of the Augeri era anywhere.

Hey Ed, I was at that show in Delaware, too! That's the first time we met. I hung out all day and was there for the soundcheck. I had an awesome time and met some great people!

Soundcheck was really cool that day wasn't it? It was like our own mini concert pre show. After The Fall being the highlight. I remember somehow getting an invite because one of the promoters was posting on Backtalk.
I have a bootleg video of the concert by the way.

The only pro recording that i know of was from the Mark and Brian show from Sony studios. They played 4 songs (i think), it was great stuff and Augeri was real good.

Arrival versus Revelation would be a much better comparison.

In the run-up to Arrival's release, they played live on a few radio stations, if i remember correctly.

If anybody can, I'd love to hear some boots. I'm always searching for Augeri stuff. You Tube has its limits, mostly Vegas 2001 DVD or a couple boots here or there. I still love Steve A's voice. Great frontman IMO.

I was basically talking about the time line of the concert and how on the Arrival tour, they played more songs and did 4 songs form Arrival on that tour.. It was a 3 band show and Journey played almost 2 hours.
Plus I didnt see the Revelation tour and I had the WPB show I could reference from the Arrival show

Biggest difference for me was that the Arrival material was good.

I really wish that I knew who Journey was during the Arrival tour. They played a great selection of songs back then

The sets were a lot more similar, the number of new songs being played was almost identical and they were playing longer than the current set. They're simply not touring in support of Eclipse like they did Arrival and Revelation.

Arrival. Better songs, smoother singer, and in the original key.
