Cool thoughts about his memories of how he, Jon and Neal handled sequencing back in the day and how he incorporated that knowledge into what he did with this disc.

You can sure hear the passion in his voice about the music when he talks about it.

Too bad; it was an abbreviated interview. Still was really good to truly hear him again. He sounds like he is totally into what he is doing now.

So why can't Andrew share the audio of his SP interview? :/

Andrew blew this guy's interview away......I mean, major league vs. minor league.

Technical issues with the call so Steve is going to call them back later today and they will record the rest of it to post with the whole thing. Be glad you couldn't see me here in the office while that was happening as I was having a heart attack. I am now bald and have no fingernails.

This interview was done with the knowledge that it was streaming live and being recorded for a later broadcast. Andrew's interview was not so it's a whole different situation as far as posting the audio. Steve has done several interviews for print only and several for broadcast. But I think he gave Drew a very special interview. :)

He definitely did, Lora! I love the fact that Perry is out there really promoting this new GHII release.

Amen Lora!!
What a TOTALLY FANTASTIC interview, Andrew did!!
I have re-read it 3 times already.
Really nice to see he felt so comfortable with Andrew to open up to him, especially as EXTREMELY private we all know Steve is!!

So glad Steve is calling back to the show. I was really looking forward to hearing the interview.
Do you happen to know if SP has a ROCKLINE Interview scheduled, to talk about GH 2?

As always, THANKS SO MUCH, Lora!!
So sorry about your newly acquired baldness and fingernail loss!! :)

I really can't even begin to understand what this means and why it would matter in regards to sharing the audio. Every material bit of information/response/question is included in the posted transcript as far as I remember. Hard to see why it matters. But whatever.

Andrew "cleaned up" the interview so it is more enjoyable for the reader. That means taking the 'verbatim" audio file that was transcribed and removing the 'and, um, er, ah, yeah, right" stuff that goes on when you are chatting with someone and does not contribute to the interview. When you are talking with someone on the phone for 90 minutes, you are not sitting there thinking about exactly how you are going to say something so that it doesn't sound rambling and is more succinct. When you are interviewing live or for radio, there is a conscious effort to come across in a different way for the listener. It's hard for me to describe really but hopefully this makes sense.

That makes sense to me Lora. I think the long and short of it is, we all would LOVE to hear the part where Steve sung a few lines to Andrew! :D

I gotcha, so this all for the listeners'/fans' benefit. Thanks for the clarification!

No prob. And by the way, you did a most excellent job transcribing the interview! I've done many in the past and know how much work goes into it - especially one that long!

Yeah...taking 50 years to remaster a few songs isn't quite an amazing accomplishment. Still...he would be a make a terrific manager, writer and producer for Journey.

I don't want it posted either. It reads great in print...nothing has been chopped, so we're all good.

Settle down, tough guy. You have a lot of nerve accusing me of posting under Tito's name when I wasn't. I don't duck anyone and I would certainly abide by your ban without backdooring my way in. I will continue to post as I see fit and you do what you have to do.
