Stands a good chance to be awesome! 8)

Deen's songs on Generations are two of the three strongest songs, and are super.

Also, the other Neal project with Steve Smith ought to be great too, but probably a different animal than the one with Deen singing.

Marco Mendoza talked about the Schon/Castronovo/Mendoza collaboration here:

http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... za#4617939

When Schon was still on Facebook, he said that the instrumental with Schon/Smith/Hammer/Lens will be coming out first.

Schon sure seems like he's got a lot of projects in the works. These 2 plus his desire to do some shows with the pre-Perry group/music.

Hopefully, we will hear from him in 2012!

I had hoped that the 2 discs would be packaged together.

Any word yet on when either of them is due out?

Kingfish, who I believe is David Kalmusky, the guy who mixed and co-produced Eclipse, said this in another thread about the albums a while back:

"Really Soon. I'd bet 1st quarter 2012 if i were a "Betting man."'

But I don't know if he worked/will work on the solo albums and actually knows something about it, or if it was just speculation. I wouldn't mind if he did though, because I think he did a fine job on Eclipse.

Let's see what comes out first; the DVD that Neal had filmed in 2010 during his solo tour or one of these two albums.
Didn't Schon say there was to be a box set of all of his solo albums coming out this year also?

Seriously?

I hadn't heard about that.

I have all of them already, anyway.

Now, if they were remastered or had bonus tracks, then maybe I'd get it?

At the show in Las Vegas before Journey came out they played some of the Schon/Smith stuff over the PA. It was amazing.

I'm almost positive that they were playing some of it before the Journey show in Cleveland, too. I don't think most people were paying any attention to it, but I thought to myself that's gotta be Neal with Smith on drums.

Can you say more?

What was it like?

Can you compare it to something to give us an idea?

Certainly sounds like he should know...this was from his Facebook page:

Dean does need to do at least one ballad per CD....his Perry like vocals demand it.
The rest should be mid-tempo and fast rockers....

No disrespect to Arnel...he does very well on certain songs (OA, WYLAW, OTY), but Deen knocks it out of the park (Faithfully...WOW). Perhaps, unfair to compare, with Arnel having to sing practically the whole catalog, while Deen only cover(ed) a few songs.
