Listen to this, arguably the best performance of Steve's time with the band. Very very nice.

Steve A was good. Things happened later, that do not erase the fact that he helped resurrect that band. :)

I seen him with Journey in Louisville in '98 when he first started with the band. It was one of the first shows he did with Journey. He was really really good. And put Journey back on the map. He deserves a lot more credit than he gets.

It's really the follow-up to Arrival that SA deserved. Gens is a piece of crap. So much filler.

I've heard this many times. One of my favorite renditions of "Party's Over." He was on the top of his game this song. Great energy and vocals, all-around. It's good to hear Steve A. boots since there's plenty of bad.

Separate Ways, fresh Augeri in 1998. Sounds great.

What I always liked about SA, was that he was a tenor, but not so much so that he was shrill. Perry and Arnel are such high tenors that it can be grating at times. Sounds good here.

I think Augeri comes off as less shrill is because he's a larger person size wise where Arnel and Perry are small people. This means Augeri will need mixed and head voice to hit the notes where Perry and Arnel can likely pull chest voice up to that level. Perry could run the gambit (chest, mixed and head voice) to smooth things out over his range. Arnel has not figured this out yet which is why is he is a bit rough and less "emotional" or smooth on his vocals IMO.

Even with an overly hot mic in the mix, Perry sounds amazing. You can't hide anything with that mix, and he NAILS it!
