I like this dudes mojo. Has a pretty damn good voice with great energy and emotion being poured into Journey music. Kind of reminds me of Sammy Hagar meets Jeff Scott Soto and Steve Augeri as far as appearance is concerned, haha. I dig it.

I may go as far to say that this may be the best sounding tribute band I've seen yet without trying to sound like a carbon copy. No, it IS the best sounding tribute band I've ever seen yet. The lead singer is the REAL DEAL. Blown away for sure.

Their bio is that they formed in 2008 and is a Boston Massachusetts band that has been voted best tribute band around the area and quickly had a huge fan-fare following in such a short period of time. They seriously roar with lead vocalist, Jason Paulino and a solid band behind him worthy of the best Journey music around.

I'm in utter shock with this band. I can't seem to understand why I haven't stumbled upon them sooner givin' how TREMENDOUS they are. By far the best tribute band out there. They wipe the floor with anything I've heard from anyone else and that's not being disrespectful to any other Journey tribute. The power and resilient range of this front man is AMAZING. The kind of energy needed to put into these songs that make it an overall success that maybe SO many little people could do. I'm sold.

I'm getting that distinction as well, RWF. But on the other hand, he sounds more like Perry than Soto did. Kind of a unique comparison. He defiantly has the stage presence and energy of JSS though. All in a good way for my personal observation.

These Guys do a fantastic Job....Im a fan for sure.

I first found Jason Paulino when he filled in for Hugo in Evolution for a couple shows before John joined. If you guys haven't seen it already, Jason was on Community Auditions and there are clips on YT. Great range and a really awesome vibrato.

So far I've listened to BGTYS and WCN. Great version of WCN. Not so great on BGTYS (but I'd say that's a pretty tough song to do). Gonna watch a few more.

Thanks for the heads up, Infinity. I did go on YT to check it out on Community Auditions. It's simple for me. Jason Paulino is a big time singer. I can EASILY see him fronting ANY of the major 80's rock bands that want a huge voice with wide range on their resume. Not only does his POWER impress me, but also his coordination and the ability of balance he controls in his voice. He's practically spot on and can hit every single note on the board. He also has great energy as a frontman and shows off MAJOR confidence in his ability.

I've been keeping an eye on this guy for a while now. Def a Perry/Soto hybrid, both vocally and visually. The only thing stopping me from thinking he should front J, is the machine gun vibrato. If he could slow that down and dial it in, control it, just on the end of a phrase, ever so graceful.....wow...he could be best out there. Right now I still think JH when he's on...is superior.

This guy sounds very much like Frontiers SP (to me).

I will agree with the JSS comparison. Both of their voices add a really welcome metal-ish quality to the material.

He has some pretty startling Perryisms in his approach, but I'm skeptical of his ability to sustain that level of performance under rigorous touring. BGTY was average (his best moments were when he wasn't trying to mimic SP note for note). SIL is pretty good.

Is not being able to "rigorously tour" behind this material this really even a criticism? Perry couldn't do it, Augeri couldn't do it, and Arnel is readily showing he can't do it either.

But yea, BGTYS was the worst one. I was impressed by a lot of the other ones, especially WCN.

More of an observation than a criticism, as I'm assessing whether or not they'd make a suitable replacement for SP. Though I do honestly believe Chalfant had a shot had certain precautions been taken.

SIL was very good but WCN won me over. It was excellent.

I agree BGTY is a VERY hard song to sing live. The up-tempo of the entire song is very hard to keep up with and there are killer notes to hit in such a short verses. That said, I haven't really seen a 'great' clip of any JRNY lead singer kill this song, IMHO. For how difficult I think it is, Paulino still gave a good performance.

As for JSS comparison, I feel Soto is more of a baritone by nature. Paulino just sings in a natural lower tone when in key but can get a higher vibrato than Soto can.

HolySonofaBitch! Guy's def got chops. I agree with Texafana, the vibrato is a bit over-emphasized. If he could lighten up on it and hit the high notes dead-on when he attacks them, he'd be the absolute best clone of Perry I've ever heard. Really have to give props to the band - they are very tight. They've obviously got some serious rehearsal time behind them. Thanks to the OP for this post. I always enjoy checking out tribute bands - especially those who are able to really bring it like this one does.
WCN and Oh Sherrie are the best of the bunch IMHO.

Oh Sherrie? So its another Perry tribute rather than a Journey tribute. Of course I expected that from the others who wear wigs, tails or leopard prints.
