This is excerpt from one of the Escape shows in Japan....Neal's guitar solo. Like the Drum solo or piano solo, always thought these were just breaks for SP...never knew they had song titles :) .

The track is from the Dream After Dream album.

Sadly, nowadays. most of his solos sound like this. Just unfocused noodling and plucking. Where's the melody? Where's the wraparound theme?

Geez. Sounds like a kid who is developing decent chops hanging in a guitar shop playing with the delay pedal and guitar with the whammy bar because his cheapo gear at home doesn't have those little bells and whistles :/

And that's not a compliment to an artist of Neal's caliber...

Neal's playing used to be inspiring to me... now? Not so much- hopefully, his new solo albums will be inspiring again.
