But she's clearly still stung by comments she claims her soon-to-be-ex Tareq made on TODAY back in September.

"When he joined Matt on this couch and said that I was a groupie slut -- it's not about Journey, it's not about Neal, it's about him and I, and it's something that should have been between us," Salahi explained. "And there's enough pain in the world, he just needs to stop."

"This is the first time in five months that I've spoken," she added. "I would never defame his name."

But two things happened yesterday that seem to have propelled her to come forward. On Valentine's Day, Journey released that new music video for "Resonate," and on same day, TMZ reported that Tareq was suing Schon for $50 million for emotional distress, defamation conspiracy and interfering with a contract -- plus $450,000 in punitive damages.

Lawsuit aside, Michaele is happy.

"There's very much real love there," she said. "This is a great friendship. I'm thankful Neal is in my life."

(For the record: Tareq Salahi did not call Michaele a "slut" or a "groupie" in his September interview with Lauer, and their chat did not actually take place on the TODAY couch.)

You could see the host really had no interest in the video at all, she just wanted to keep the whole interview focused on Michaele and Tareq. It really looked like the show was leaning towards Tareq's view of the situation and painting Neal and Michaele as the villains.
This is not good promo, even for Neal.

I was just going to say this...they didn't care about the video ...
it was shown (a clip) only to show why Tork was suing ...who are these
people that the media cares so much
about them?!?! Embarrassing really!! :?

On Today with Hoda & Kathy Lee..they are laughin about this interview & showing

You know, I love Neal's work. I'm a fan of his work for life. He's my guitar hero. I'll always look up his new work. Nothing will change that.

However -- lol...

I find her reasoning very suspicious. One has to wonder if Michaele would have left Tareq for anyone if he hadn't gone bankrupt. If Neal decides to marry her, I wish him nothing but the best, but I hope he has her sign a pre-nup written in stone.

tareq: "i'm troubled that journey is promoting my wife's affair with neil [sp] schon."

Thank you for speaking for the Journey fanbase.

My personal policy is to not really invest time and feeling into the personal lives of these great musicians. For all I know, Perry beat Sherrie like an African drum and Neal is a chronic adulterer, but I don't care one iota until it starts affecting the band.

Michaele's involvement in the video crosses that line, but not to the point that I'm about to hop off the wagon. They're still monstrously talented individuals and the greatness of Resonate cannot be undone by even this shitty video.

Speaking of which, Deen has his preliminary hearing tomorrow. If case goes on trial in late March as scheduled, does Journey delay their South American Tour or use the drum tech until Deen can rejoin them?

If you go to Journeymusic.com, the video starts playing automatically on the homepage. Nice.

Does she think everyone actually buys into all her self-serving statements? She was in an abusive relationship, she had to leave him...and, oh, I have MS...

Resonate is am amazing song. I hope, at least, all this cringeworthy publicity brings more recognition to the song. Oh, well, it brought me back to the album, which I hadn't listened to in quite a while. I forgot how much I loved Edge of the Moment.

Maybe it's not voluntary. Wouldn't you throw up a little if you had to make out with Neil on a beach?

Yes, you're just not able to interact with it anymore. All of the blogs and album reviews are gone.

From a legal perspective, Tareq has no chance in hell. As soon as the judge sees that Tareq is asking for a $50 million judgment he'll dismiss it as a frivolous lawsuit.

I wonder why in the video to Resonate, he has a wedding band on?

Wtf?

At least we know why he took a picture of his unit,

Shouldn't the band be getting ready for their Rascal Flatts shoot next week? Is Arnel even in the country yet? Is this going to be like the superbowl pre-game where no prep time meant a subpar performance out the gate?
Anyone know how Deen's day in court went yesterday?
