Hey ho,
Just wanted to share this in depth interview I did with Ross Muir earlier this week...We cover a lot of ground including some background on my new CD, my name "change (LOL)", a recap of the events leading up to my offer to sing for Journey and what happened after, as well as a chance to talk about singing in general, the toll that constant touring can take on a singer, and where I am in my voice rehab.
Many thanks to Ross for being patient and asking the right questions. Hope you all check it out, along with my new CD, which is not a Journey copycat CD

I like this part:
So when Neal pulled this eleventh hour, "woah, let's just wait until later in the year and get back together and discuss things," I knew what it was.
And I just couldn't believe that after all of my doubts, after all of my fear that this thing would fall apart, and having made it through to being actually offered the job and discussed salary and tax forms and start dates and everything, this guy was going to pull this shit.
So I did it, I played my hand and I called Jonathan Cain and I said, "You reneged on the deal. You offered me everything, you made me jump through every hoop and I passed every test with flying colours, and then you pull this shit."
And the funny thing is… nobody in the band knew that Neal had done this.
Come to find out – in the ultimate irony – it was pretty much Neal's girlfriend the whole time that was pulling the strings on this situation.
She didn't like how my wife and I got along, plain and simple. Like I said, for a long time I really thought this was all Neal's doing, but about a year ago, I found out that yeah, this girl of Neal's at the time pretty much was getting him all worked up about things, and she was actually kind of proud of her role in the whole situation.
Neal really is turning out to be quite a shitty person.

Haven't heard this much candor from any of the recent Journey singers about their experience. Fascinating for us to hear the saga. But difficult to have gone through for you, I'm sure.
Thanks for sharing, Jeremey. Sounds like talking about it was cathartic for you. Hope so. Wishing you the best of health.

Sounds very familiar

think I know at least 3 other people that had a similar situation occur.

If I told you, I would have to kill you

I'm pretty sure Andrew knows .. one has signed a NDA and the others just think it is not worth repeating or too painful. [although they were accused of telling tales right after it happened

Jeremy, you are so fortunate to have dodged that Journey bullet! You were entirely right to question what effect such an association would have on your family. How much worse for you had you joined, gone out on tour, used until no longer needed, then been fired for no apparent reason. Probably via a third party in an oh by the way manner. Which is exactly what would have happened. That's how this band operates again and again. Decent musicians. Horid people.

With Augeri's vox already on a demo of WDILYL, you would think it would've made the cut for Generations. That cd needed as much strong material as possible.
Jeremey's cd is very ecclectic and diverse. Not sure if he's the missing songwriting ingredient, but Schon/Cain could use a talented third party to shake things up.

He definitely has that in spades. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Wow, Jeremey, I knew about the Journey stuff because you posted on here at the time and I warned you that to accept a job offer was to drink from a poisoned chalice - so I knew all that stuff that happened to you then,
but I didn't know about your vocal problems!
I really hope you have sorted it out now. Don't take ANY chances. Don't talk or whisper. Write notes to everyone.
I guess you are past that stage now though.
Just get well, mate.
A singer needs his voice so he can stay sane.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Will the CD be available on amazon uk?

This line cracked me up
Jeremey Hunsicker wrote:In fact, I flubbed a line in ‘Where Did I Lose Your Love’ and put the wrong accent on the word "emotion" and the same misplaced emphasis is on the studio version of the song from Revelation. Maybe that's a coincidence, who knows…

Had a look at your booklet while loading on to my player...
What is with the pizza..
and is that the MemphiPyramidid? If it is, it sucked for live music...10 second echo in the building and that was after the improvement. Plus saw a roadie die there. Fell from lightning structure. Was at the Bryan Adam/The Storm show..

All the money they spent building the Pyramid arena in Memphis and the place opened in 1991 i saw one of the first concerts there i think it was Metallica when they toured the black album.Anyway within not even a decade or a little over a decade the building was being shut down to make way for the FedEx Forum.Yeah there were horror stories about how bad the sound was in the and the echo issues there in the Pyramid.I do have fond memories of the Mid South Coliseum i saw a lot of good concerts in that building.

Thanks Susie, the CD is available to ship to the UK from my site (I've shipped about a dozen overseas the past 2 weeks with no problems at all)...You also get an immediate download of the CD from my site while you wait for the CD!
Voice is getting better, speaking voice is really improved and singing wise I'm not back to Jeremey strength yet but it's coming along!

Ha, that was the largest slice of pizza I'd ever seen - From Godfather's Pizza in Lexington KY of all places. Pretty amazing.
Yes, that was Memphis, not that we actually played there but we were about to cross over the Mississippi River and snapped that shot.
Hope you like the tunes!

Then I shall look forward to receiving the CD I just ordered.
You must have been shitting yourself when you knew you had a serious vocal problem!
Do you know how it was caused?
Was it straining to hit high notes over time and then singing when you should have been resting?
When you get the all clear to sing again, do the Docs think your voice will sound different?
Bloody hell, I can't imagine.
I get suicidal when I have laryngitis from a cold.
Don't take any chances. Don't sing until the Docs say you can - and even then, wait two more weeks.
You didn't give up your day job did you?
If so [ sorry this has turned into 20 questions!!!] - I hope you are managing to keep your head above water financially.

Sidney Slinker or something like that was the guys name, he took Memphis for a ride on that project....Only saw a handful of shows at the pyramid, but saw many many more at the Mid South Coliseum. 3 Journey tours, 2 Styx, 4 Rush, REO, Foreigner, Heart and on and on it goes. Saw a bunch at Mud Island and two tours at the Liberty Bowl (?) And they all had the Pyramid beat!!!
