The tour grossed the majority of that sum prior to the Michaele publicity. The real question is, how much does this figure reflect on Journey vs. the classic rock tour package they were a part of? Either way, kudos to the gross, especially in this economy. Rock on --

Journey sold 700,000 albums last year. Seeing as Eclipse sold 100k or less, I guess we can say that Sony cleaned up with the back catalog.

I don't think that Michally girl had anything to do w/it, but good for them.
As I've stated numerous times, whomever makes the decisions
regarding tour pkgs/podnuhs, is brilliant ...agree w/ST^^^.

Classics, Classics, classics ...^^^^what g~boy said!!

700,000 in album sales last year, that is pretty amazing. I know about 285,000 were GH, then about 75,000 Eclipse, combined with good sales from Escape, Captured, and GH Live.

One important thing to note is there were only 4 rock/classic rock bands in the top 20: U2, Bon Jovi, Journey, and Bog Seger. Its pretty huge Journey is still bringing in that kind of money.

ANOTHER important thing to note ...
The PKG, included FOREIGNER and NIGHT RANGER, which ups the classic rock bands to six (6),
and helped put them here. Still it's incredible for a pkg. in this day/time/economy. Great to see
Bob here and It is really great to see the classics still selling so well. Bon Jovi and U2 are no brainers.

After all the tabloid press this year, it was nice to see Billboard write it straight ... "touring in support of Eclipse" and listing the long time band members. No swipes or snipes. It really is nice to see them make it into the dirty dozen.

I agree that Journey teamed up with Foreigner really helped sales and made it an appealing package, but I dont think Night Ranger made that much of an impact in the sales department. Yes, they are a good crowd opener and they play really well live, but lets face it, the majority of the people came to see Foreigner and Journey.

Either way though, its great to see that this type of genre is still a force to be reckon with.

Perhaps not to the same extent, but yeah ...NR fans were excited about the new LP
SIC and, like me, disappointed that their set was so short ...they were a draw in the pkg.
We'll just have to A to D on this ...the rest +1.
