Favorite Journey Era?

In my opinion, the difference between the different time periods of Journey are really what make the band so special. It is what allowed for their "journey" to continue on for so long and hopefully far into the future. Personally, I love every era. Each one provided a unique sound and their songs emit a particular mood/feeling when heard. I'm just curious; What is your favorite era of Journey?
Pre-Steve Perry Era (1973-1977)
Journey
Look Into the Future
Next
Early Steve Perry Era {w/ Greg Rollie} (1977-1980)
Infinity
Evolution
Departure
Captured
Steve Perry Era {Intro of Jonathan Cain} (1981-1986)
Escape
Frontiers
Raised on Radio
Short Trial by Fire Era (1996)
Trial by Fire
Steve Augeri Era (1998-2006)
Red 13
Arrival
Generations
Jeff Scott Solo Era (2006-2007)
Arnel Pineda Era (2007-Present)
Revelation
Eclipse

How can anyone's answer to this not have the name Steve Perry. Arrival was good. Red and Gen pretty lackluster. WAFTE was good too. Escape and Frontiers are 2 of the best melodic rock albums ever. Personally, I prefer Escape.
Augeri's voice flamed out quickly. They should have went with Chalfant. SA sounds good on the recordings.

1) Steve Augeri Era (1998-2006)
Red 13
Arrival
Generations
I do not know why I like this era the best....I have always been into Journey music since 1980 forward. But something about this time good and bad struck a cord in my life.
2) Steve Perry Era {Intro of Jonathan Cain} (1981-1986)
Escape
Frontiers
Raised on Radio
The magical era of the band, they could do no wrong and untouchable This era and Augeri are split by a hair...
3) Early Steve Perry Era {w/ Greg Rollie} (1977-1980)
Infinity
Evolution
Departure
Captured
Good music, but a lot of wandering on the songs, production kind of off on E and D.
4) Jeff Scott Solo Era (2006-2007)
What could have been........Same with Kevin Chalfant....another WTC!!
5) Short Trial by Fire Era (1996)
Trial by Fire
Another cd from this era could have put them higher, even though Perry's voice is huskier, better songs could have been written to fit that.
6) Pre Steve Perry Era (1973-1977)
Journey
Look Into the Future
Next
Some good moments on record here, some off the wall crap too.
7)Arnel Pineda Era (2007-Present)
Revelation
Eclipse
Heard a song from Revelation yesterday on the radio. remember thinking this who is this...Sounds pretty good, but sounds like someone trying to sound like Journey, then the chorus came on and I knew the song, oh it is Journey. Still not a fan of AP. He is a good singer, but live....let him sing, not talk at all.

Arrival is such a diverse, interesting album. Barely any filler. Escape is about 50% filler.

Plenty of filler. Arrival is too ballad heavy. NCC, WWMA, and at least another I can't think of. Escape is hardly 50% filler. LID, WDOA, KOR. That's it. Most of the rest are classics and some of the best material Journey ever wrote. Not one song on Arrival is strong as what is left after the 3 filler tracks I just wrote. More importantly, Escape and Frontiers sounded original at the time. Arrival sounds like Journey trying to be Journey. I know it doesn't sound like it but I like Arrival. It just isn't on the same level musically as Escape or Frontiers- with or without filler.

Raised on Radio should be its own era, because of Randy Jackson and Mike Baird replacing Smitty and Ross. A travesty.

Drop ROR out of that one era and Escape+Frontiers would have received my vote. But a weak poppy album that doesn't stand the test of time after taking '84 and '85 off and then doing only part of the tour hurts that for me.

I'm with Eric. Drop ROR and JC era gets my vote. Otherwise, I must abstain.

Ballad does not equal filler. Arrival is the most natural sounding Journey album, IMO. They're not trying to sound like anything; just playing what feels right.

The most musical and varied Journey ever:
Early Steve Perry Era {w/ Greg Rollie} (1977-1980)
Infinity
Evolution
Departure
Captured
And Perry sang duets with both Rollie and Neal...

It is very surprising to me the love so many people on this forum have for the Augeri era. Yeah, Arrival was good, but it gradually went down hill from there, before hitting an embarrassing bottom.
