I wonder if Journey were to ever be inducted if this sort of thing would happen too, possibly Steve Perry choosing not to take part?

I think that Perry would attend. He attended the WOF affair with them.

Apparently it is all about bad blood and has nothing to do with his feeling about the HOF honor itself.

I'm pretty sure I read or heard where Perry said he would definitely be on board, if in induction ever came about. From how he talked, he sees it as a big honor to be recognized for what they all accomplished during his tenure with the band.

That doesn't mean he would perform though. That is not a mandatory requirement for the induction ceremony anyway.

+1. Perry would undoubtedly be there barring some incredibly display of douchebaggery on Schon's part (which I don't think Cain would allow).

Are you saying that Perry should leave his girlfriend home and not expose her to Schon and the possibility that Schon might expose himself to.................., anyway, what was I saying.

What is bad is how a band like GNR who had what a good 3 year run and has really no catalog, gets voted in while bands like Journey, Styx, Foreigner (who have hits on hits, a huge song library) get left out.
The Rock hall of fame is nothing.....

Yeah Exactly. REM, Blondie, GNR..etc before bands like Journey or Foreigner, thats a joke. The biggest surprise over the years for me has been the hit making machine Chicago, still not in the hall of fame. We have to remember though that the media and critics have a slobbering love affair with most of the bands that are voted in like GNR, Springsteen, REM.
