Hey everyone! My old college buddy Carl McArn and I caught up recently and Carl was kind enough to share this 20 year old demo with me of a song we wrote WAY BACK in 1992! Check it out here!

I usually have something long and sentimental to say about most of Jeremey's work but all I can say for that demo is WOW. It's awesome to hear you that long ago, especially 3 minutes in... brings to mind the very early Perry tracks where he'd stretch the limits.

For a rough demo, it sound much better than the litter box that passes for music today.

Like the rock sound. Vocals remind me of Head East...please don't take that as a slam. They are one of my favorites from back in the day.

The older one sounds a bit influenced in parts by Mariilion's "Kaliegh", then it gets that early 90's rock going.

LOL thanks guys, weird to see the Neil & that old demo posted here. I haven't heard anything from any of those bands mentioned RE that old demo, but it was definitely influenced by that early 90s rock sound. And yes, those vocals there at 3:00 were way over the top, haha! I used to be able to do that with my voice pretty much any time I wanted to (and covered any of the Perry style of songs that used the same technique (the scat singing of "Somewhere to Hide," "Lay It Down," etc), as well as Rob Halford, King Diamond, and one of my faves at the time, Ted Neeley. I stopped being able to utilize that part of my voice easily when I was about 30 years old. I never recorded anything really during that time except for some of my old demos from early songwriting stuff. Recording equipment back then was not as easy to come by, lol.
