Remasters

Postby Journey/Survivor » Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:13 pm

A company called BGO Records has remastered Journey's "Look Into The Future" and "Next" albums.

Do any of you own those remasters from BGO? If you do, how do they sound?

And does anyone know of a remaster of Journey's self-titled debut album?

I love all three albums. But no, haven't invested in any remasters. Though I did buy each on LP, Cassette and CD over the years. I think I even might have had a combination Next/Infinity cassette (or 8-track?) at some point... but the mind wobbles a bit after all these years :o

My first introduction to Journey's pre-Perry music came from a cassette tape that combined "Next" and "Infinity," that I bought back in the 80's.

The BGO version is somewhat of an improvement over the old domestic CDs- but the Japanese Mini LP Replica CDs (Journey, Look into the Future, and Next) are far and away absolutely the best versions for sound quality. Pricey of course, but it's worth it if you love those records as much as I do and want to hear them at their ultimate, it's an amazing difference!

Thanks for mentioning that! I was not aware that there were any of those Japanese Mini LP CD's of Journey's first 3 albums. I'll look into those.
