This was from just a day or so ago. AP still seems to have his voice and was a pretty good performance,
but I wish there were a better audio and video out there. I've never seen AP perform with an orchestra
before.

Cool!

Wouldn't it be neat if Journey did a one off performance with a full orchestra? Metallica and others have done this with good results. If they did it, I'd love to see Perry at the mike over Arnel, since it would be a one off anyway. I wonder if Perry wouldn't be interested in that?

Anyway, I hope I haven't high jacked your thread, but I couldn't help but wonder!

Actually, things have been dead here so I just posted it to give us another thing to talk about.

Great idea. Too bad this band has no balls. Eclipse is the most creatively interesting thing they've done in some time.

TNC! Shame on you! You can't say that here. Don't you know EVERYONE hates that album? WHAT are you thinking????

I remember when Lea Salonga was quite the international star . Her Tony Award for Miss Saigon was probably the pinnacle of her career but she certainly made a nice little nest egg with Disney over the years.

Arnel sounds fantastic. I am really surprised he hasn't done a covers album over there. I'm sure it would really sell big since they love '70s, '80s music over there.

Well, there in lies the problem. Everyone else (and I mean everyone) has already done cover albums over there. Some artists have even two, three or four releases of nothing but revivals (as they call them).
A part of these pop get-togethers, Arnel does well but as a true solo artist, i don't think he has much a fanbase. I thought he should have done a solo album last year but the longer he waits, I think the harder it will be for him to crack the home town market, especially as he isn't single and in his teens/ twenties like most debut artists over there.

This is just recent? Pretty good. This kind of music and environment suits him. I thought Tantra was his most outstanding performance on a Journey song...though one could argue that song sounded more like Broadway than pop/rock.

I think Arnel did a wonderful job....I know there are alot of people out there not liking Arnel.....I think he has overcome many obsticles in life and in music itself, and thats something I can relate too....I like him for just being the musician he is, and never giving up......he can sing anything he wants.......His youtube clips of other singers are impressive.
