Forget Everyman's Journey; Jon and Neal don't need to be out there pimping documentaries, the music they created with Perry promotes itself.
There's only one person I can think of who really wants/needs this film to take off and that's Ramona, obviously for personal monetary gain. I don't even think Pineda needs or wants it that much since he hasn't been to a showing and to do the Q & As. Sure he's away cause of personal life, but hey, catch a non-stop and be here in 14 - 15 hours, attend the function and then jump back on the plane, back home in another 16 - 17 hours. Not a big deal, I do it regularily to and from Japan. However, coming from the Philippines, stay up the entire flight and when you get to America, go to sleep the first night here. Going back home to the Philippines, sleep the entire flight back and when you arrive in the morning, your refreshed and ready to rock & roll.
But then again, if it was that important for Pineda to be there, Ramona would have scheduled the showing for a future date to accommodate Pineda's current situation.
One thing that’s on my mind is how there was so much outreach by Ramona to the general public for monetary donations to get this film produced. That to me is a red flag. I've never heard of that before. Usually a film is produced and then the general public pays to see the film, that’s where the revenue comes from. In this situation however, they were attempting to collect revenue before the film was done and then collect funds when it's offered to the general public either in theater or DVD form. The benefit to doing it this way is to produce something in big part on donated money, sell it for as much as possible, and then walk away unaffected if it makes any money or not when released to the general public.
