Got mine in the mail today. Great Instrumental album with a lot of variety! Still listening trying to decide my favorite but The Calling is not it so far. Who knows?

If y'all can remember back to this past tour when some of us including myself thought we heard new songs playing before the concert... well I belive Six String Waltz was one of them. I think so because I remember at the concert me thinking that it sounded similar to A Prayer for Peace and the clip sounds like it too. Go figure.

(Tumbleweeds has a bit of The Calling in it too  )

Sounds like a great follow up to his last solo album Eclipse, err I mean I on U. Just in time for the tour too.
I'll definitely be procuring this when it hits retail.

Yup!! Definitely it's a lot more I on U. I loved Father from I on U. :D Right now Song of the Winds is my fav! Bound to change!

Six String Waltz
Irish Field
Blue Rainbow Sky

Loving these 3 from the clips.

Where can I buy it?

I'm afraid to click on the link, I don't want Neal to Brett Favre me too.

In all seriousness, it sounds good from the clips. My one gripe would be at least from the samples, I don't hear 1 song that features Neal on the acoustic. I've always thought he's extremely underrated as an acoustic player (see: Beyond the Thunder album) and that he doesn't play acoustic enough, either on his own or Journey. That being said, it seems he's struck a nice balance between some heavier riff-rockers and melodic, "emotional" type songs, the apparent* lack of an acoustic showcase notwithstanding.

* Of course, 1/some of these songs could turn into an acoustic-driven thing once you get into them, but it doesn't sound like it.

How did you score that?

Clips sound great to me. Looking forward to this release.

Side note:
If anyone has an inside track to Neal, let him know whoever manages his website's update notification isn't doing their job. I signed up but the only way I heard about the sample clips was this message board posting. If I was paying for the service, I think I'd want them to be ahead of that curve.

Lots of different shades and colors here. I like that he slowed down...Neal excels when the focus is on emotive expression and melodies over hyper-sonic noodling. "I on U" had some great moments, but not enough. This sounds like a return to form. My favs are still Electric World and BTT.

I can't help but to feel some true, Journey vibes with Neal Schon on guitars and bass and Steve Smith on drums.

I rushed off the order this as soon as I saw your link, paid for everything without a hitch and only then realized its not released until the 31st! :( I wonder if it comes to Amazon and itunes by that date too...Oh well. I still can't wait!

Judging from the clips I would compare this one with Electric World more than I on U. Sounds like there could be some good stuff here, and the Calling is probably my least favorite. Weird how Neal's tastes in his own playing differ so much from what his fans like from him. He often falls in love with something the fans don't get at all, and doesn't understand why we love the stuff that we do.

That beat the other dates. Amazon and iTunes both show Oct 23. The album will probably be torrented long before then.

Well, there's a point then for Neal to make some more $$ of the album off reservations. Just kind of lame that it doesn't mention anything about that until you pay. Cheap tactic

There's a really nice Nylon String'd Classical Acoustic feature 3 minutes into the track "Backsmash", check it out, Neal did some great orchestration behind it.

Sounds very cool man. I will. Are the people here correct in that you can't get it by legal means yet?
