Haha...can't mistake Jon with his permed hair during that period. Right after BE dissolved, Neal formed Hardline with his then brother-in-law as the lead singer is what I've heard....don't know his name or what he is up to now.

I saw them at Great Adventure in NJ when they first came out (they opened for The Electric Boys and Mr. Big).

Hardline 'Hot Cherie'

Wanted to have Neal sign my Double Eclipse CD at a Soul SirkUS show, along with a couple of Journey things... He basically ignored me, signed my other stuff, and started to sign DE, then he stopped after signing "Neal" handed everything back to me and simply walked away without a word. WTF?

Brothers, Johnny & Joey Gioeli. Schon was producing their album, and wound-up playing guitar. Or something like that.

The first CD with Neal was good- haven't heard much from their other cd's although i've been thinking about downloading the newest one that just came out.

As amazing as it sounds, this post has determined my future. I was on the fence about going to see them this month in Dallas, and I'll just pass. That's what being a dickhead to your fans gets you, Neal.

I never knew it was a cover until now. But the posts on youtube say your link is also a cover. Here is the original:

Hardline's is best IMO.

Cyndy and I flew out to Missouri to catch that line-up. That was the most miserable I've ever been at a concert. Outside venue, middle of summer, a zillion degrees with 190% humidity or something like that. I remember being so hot I thought I might actually burst into flames, and this was at 11pm. Then the next day we drove to Iowa to see them again. At least that one was indoors. It was great seeing those 3 bands at one gig, though.

Hardline 'Hot Cherie'

My first time (and only time actually) to SFO, I got a bus 2hrs north, got off where we were told to in the middle bloody nowhere, walked through 2 fields to a hotel that was also in the middle of nowhere, walked further still to a little box kinda room in the middle of nowhere and saw that show myself. And hitched back to SFO in the middle of the night.

Marin County 1992. Caught Deen's drum stick and Sammy Hagar came out and jammed on Top Of The Rock.

Really, really like the few tracks I've heard from the new album. Really crisp and tight and Johnny sounds surprisingly good given the amount of time that's past since Double Eclipse. The first single to be released is a worthy choice as their comeback statement.

Although Hot Cherie got a favorable amount of airplay and is a really good song, I thought Takin' Me Down was much better. One of my favorite lines from a rock song ever is from this one:
You can say everything you want, or do all the things you do
But honey, I hope you rot in hell for all the things you put me thru

And, if the rules state that even Metal bands have to include a ballad once in a while, they met that obligation handily with Can't Find My Way:

I've met Neal a couple of times and he has been a dick each time! The only times I've have seen him smiling and happy is when he is the center of attention and being worshiped by the masses. I'm sorry, Neal... You may play guitar pretty damned good, but you still creep me out!

I just noticed my typo in my original post... LMAO!

It's funny, I met Neal the same time I met JSS for the first time. They were doing a gig during NAMM week at Lofflers in CA. It was Jeff's band with Neal and Marco Mendoza too. Neal wasn't a dick or anything but I definitely found JSS and Gary Schutt tens times more personable than Neal......just very down to earth, fan friendly people. I've been lucky enough to have met all 3 of my all-time favorite vocalists and couldn't be more thrilled to find out that Perry/Soto/Martin are each down to earth, funny and very fan-friendly......was a stellar experience/memory meeting each. LOL I have absolutely NO desire to meet any other celebrities and possibly ruin a great track record.

LOL, with all the MB flack I've gotten over the years from Saint John, just wanted to make sure he didn't miss that comment about a Journey member opening for Mr Big...........while he still peruses MR. :P

Neal married their sister, Dina Gioeli. They had a daughter before they split up.

LOL  ..that was just rumor/gossip. Neal was married to their sister...then hooked up with the brother's wife...either before or after the split...

Speaking of Hardline...the bass player's name Todd Jensen, who later toured with SP as a member of the SM band.

The coolest person I've ever met has got to be Eric Martin. He's hysterical and one chatty mother fucker! It was for an outdoor concert in PA with Ted Poley. I believe it was the 2nd year that they had done that show. We went back to the hotel to hang out with friends that were Ted's support band and he came to party with us. The bar was closing early (to much protest from all present), so we all went back to one of the guys' hotel room, with beer that we bought from the bar, and bullshit for like 5-6 hours. I have never heard funnier shit come out of anyone's mouth than I heard come from Eric's! That man holds absolutely nothing back and needs NO prodding what so ever!!! OMG, it was a priceless night.

Gary is WAY cool! Met him during a show in Buffalo 2 nights for MR Fest I. We walked in and found him hanging out by himself, so we went up to say hi. We chatted a bit, mentioned how far we had driven to see them (7 hours from NYC), that we were going to Southbend, how it was my first JSS solo show and whined about that I was hit with a migraine at the worst time ever. He took us backstage to get me some Advil, so that I would feel better for the show. During the show, he asked me how I was feeling in a charades kind of way. After the show, Jeff and Gary came out to meet everyone and hang out. Jeff's wife (at the time) was very cool to us, too, and insisted that I just HAD to meet Jeff, when I told her who I was. Apparently, she and Jeff read a lot of stuff that I posted about his work over the last decade on this site (although he'll never answer any of my freakin' questions -- Damn it! ) and they both told me that I write the sweetest things.
