Mitt Romney OVERPAYS $450,000 Hiring JOURNEY With NO Steve Perry

I will bet you anything that Mitt Romney assumed that Journey singer, Steve Perry, was still in the band…
As it stands now, Romney paid a Perry-less Journey $500,000! to play a fund rasier.
Journey with its current line-up plays corporate gigs for around $50,000, so Mitt overpaid a whopping $450,000! And when they show up, that Filipino guy, is the singer!!!

Styx plays for roughly $60,000. I'm sure Journey asks a lot more than that

Actually, the article explains what took place: Journey was approached by Romney's people, but didn't really want to do the gig, so they said $500,000 hoping to drive them away, but Romney's people agreed to $500,000. Had nothing to do with Steve Perry.

No, Mitt Romney Did Not Pay Journey $500,000 To Perform In Tampa

Campaign denies TMZ report that the candidate or his campaign is sponsoring the concert.

TAMPA — Mitt Romney's presidential campaign denied a TMZ report that the soon-to-be GOP nominee paid $500,000 to bring the band Journey to Tampa to perform at the Republican National Convention.

Asked whether the report is true, a Romney spokesperson said, "no."

Journey is set to perform in Tampa on Thursday night at an event space near the Tampa Bay Times Forum, but the concert is not sponsored by Romney.

"Liberty Plaza, benefiting Citizens Helping Heroes, hired Journey to play outside the RNC convention at a private venue," said Ron Bonjean, a spokesman for the RNC convention event space.

This is not a charity gig. It is a private function off their tour routing. Bands always charge a premium for this type of gig.

Hope they don't overexert and do have a non-stop flight from Tampa to KC.

Looking forward to another KC show Friday, this time at an awesome outdoor soccer stadium (Livestrong...yep keeping the name). Not a soccer fan, but it's a cool stadium.
