Not just about NS, wives & kids. There are five other members of this band, not to mention a hundred employees, that all deserve to get paid as well as possible. It's pure business. I find no fault at all.

For 500 grand, Neal knows what's best for all involved. You take the fucking gig. If someone is a bad enough business person to offer that kind of money then being a better business person means accepting the offer and suffering for 90 minutes.

I'm behind them on this!

Yes, of course Michaele Salahi came to the convention with Neal Schon and Journey

By The Reliable Source

TAMPA — Lovebirds Neal Schon and Michaele Salahi landed here Thursday night for Journey’s concert at a closing-night party after the GOP convention. Politics didn’t play into the gig: The guitarist is a Democrat, but no one asked when booking the group. “I’m here to entertain,” he told us. “I’m going to pay respect to our country, our people and America.” (Also, there’s the money: Schon said organizers of the Liberty Plaza concerts, a private group separate from the Romney campaign, are indeed paying the band $500K, as rumored. “We get paid a lot for private gigs.”)

As for the politics of the White House’s most famous uninvited guest, Salahi was staying coy: “I wish both men the best. There has to be a very strong man, and the strongest man will win.”

Those nasty lawsuits with her ex Tareq Salahi have been resolved, she said. “We’re very happy. Things are moving in the right direction.” The only baggage left: Her 10 suitcases. What, you thought she did carry-on?

Arnel Pineda, Journey perform at Republican event

by Steve Angeles, ABS-CBN North America Bureau

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/global-filip ... ican-event
TAMPA, Florida - Arnel Pineda and his Journey bandmates made a quick visit to Florida for the Republican National Convention.

The band was reportedly paid half a million dollars to play at a private show during the RNC.

Pineda wouldn't confirm the deal, saying he's just happy that he's had had a successful tour.

Mitt Romney's campaign has denied that the presidential candidate had any involvement in paying the band.

The post show concert is a fundraiser for the nonpartisan Creative Coalition, a group advocates for the entertainment industry and has done similar shows at past presidential elections.

Pineda said despite appearing at an RNC function the popular rock band is not making a political statement nor showing which presidential candidate they prefer.

"We're only here for the entertainment, we're not here to support any sides. We're very grateful there's a job for us here and to make a lot of people here through the songs," Pineda said.

This high profile private outdoor concert capped off what's been a crazy week for Pineda and the band. Last Tuesday, the group cancelled a show in Louisiana because of tropical storm Isaac.

Pineda knows how his Louisiana fans feel, his house was flooded during tropical storm Ondoy in 2009 and the recent storms have also reached his backyard.

"Every after summer eto na, hurricane season, just like us in the Philippines, diba parang typhoon season diba. Everybody is worried about their place their place their house. Lalo na if they live in a lower part of the city. So as well as mine. Actually my place is a bit higher nga but yun parin," he said.

Pineda has back to back shows in Kansas and Minnesota this weekend. Next week he heads back to the Philippines for a short break where he will celebrate his birthday and the christening of his newborn.

"I've missed the family, I've missed my wife. I miss the kids, miss my home. It's been a while. I've been away for a month and a half now, more than a month and three weeks to be exact. It's been quite a while so it will be very very good to be home again," he said.

Journey has rescheduled the cancelled Louisiana show for late fall.

Journey had no plans of milling around the convention. After their high profile gig, the group headed back on the road again for a Friday night show in Kansas.

I wouldn't have pegged Schon as a Dem. The SSB, Out of Harm's Way, didn't he have a song on the site as a tribute to 9-11 victims?

Despite what some may tell you, one party hasn't monopolized patriotism in this country.

Democrat Rocker Explains Why He Played RNC Bash

http://www.etonline.com/news/124647_Dem ... _RNC_Bash/

August 31, 2012

Journey guitarist and longtime Democrat Neal Schon rocked the house with his band Thursday night at a private party after the close of the Republican National Convention and said he agreed to perform because it was an extremely lucrative gig -- not because he was endorsing Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.

Schon previously confirmed to ET that the band received $500,000 for the performance, which began with the Star Spangled Banner and continued with Journey's biggest hits. The musician said that despite being at the center of the partisan VIP after-party, his goal was to remain politically neutral and focus on giving a good show.

Schon did say he was looking forward to the chance to meet Mitt Romney and his wife Ann. "He seems like a great guy and his wife's very delightful. I was very impressed with her speech the other night, she comes across as very genuine and sweet and intelligent." He joked that he hoped the presidential candidate and other guests wouldn't hold it against him that he's a Democrat and wouldn't throw eggs at the stage.

Watch the video to see Journey's performance and to also hear his girlfriend Michaele Salahi talk about whether the couple has any wedding plans. Neal also gives an update on possible TV projects despite being busy getting ready to release a solo album entitled The Calling that will drop in Europe on October 19 and in the U.S. four days later!

I'm not sure what Democrat doesn't take their hat off to the SSB. Not familiar enough with "Out of Harm's Way" to comment, and I don't know a Democrat that doesn't tribute the fallen of 9/11.

Last political comment from me on this site anytime... but one party is running on the principles of our founding fathers. The other has the teachings of Karl Marx at its core

We'll agree to disagree, and I respect you not wanting to debate.

Romney as about as close to a Constitutionalist as Pluto is to the Moon... he's a friggin' RINO. Both parties have swung to the "left"... its part of what happens when societies get too liberal...

Not a MacFarlane acolyte by any stretch (Ted & American Dad are funny, Family Guy went downhill years ago); Tyson's awesome, but that quote always arouses my inner condescending language Nazi.
