GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda has contracted severe laryngeal and esophageal inflammation, forcing the cancellation of several of the band's tour dates, including its Sat., Nov. 10, 2012 stop at Van Andel Arena.
The show will be rescheduled for Jan. or Feb. of 2013, according to a press release. No specific date has been determined yet.
Tickets for the Nov. 10 concert will be honored for the new date. Refunds are also available at point of purchase.
Pineda is under doctor's orders not to sing for the next week, so the band pulled the plug on five shows taking place between Nov. 8 and Nov. 14, 2012. Pat Benatar and Loverboy were the opening acts.
As a consolation to Journey ticketholders, SMG Grand Rapids, which manages Van Andel Arena events, is offering buy-one-get-one-free tickets to the Wine, Beer and Food Festival taking place Nov. 8-10, 2012 at DeVos Place. Bring your Journey ticket to the DeVos Place box office to redeem the deal.
Cancelled/postponed shows:
Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Ford Center in Evansville, IN
Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN
