This makes me want to punch someone in the fucking throat. I've been thrice denied Resonate.

Faithfully still way too high in this tour's set. It should be a show closer or an encore. Slow's the pace of the show down too soon.

CoH worst Journey song since Butterfly, why do they keep pushing this lame duck?
Now Resonate, that song rocks!

The bigger question is why they lump 2 new songs together? That'll just tempt the audience more for an extended beer run.

I just wish they'd spell segue correctly.

It's probably intentional that they spell it phonetically. But for whose benefit? Arnel or Neal's?

Agreed. Despite some fantastic soloing by Neal, COH cannot be salvaged. It badly wants to be a new epic opener like "Higher Place" or "Message of Love", but the chorus just ain't there. Still, good on the band for promoting the new material. Every Walmart I go to (even in different states) has loads of unsold Eclipse copies.

I LOVE this song. Not sure why others don't. I think I love it because of the sentimental value it possesses with Arnel and his home town. I'm a big fat sap anymore.

I like that set list pretty much... Resonate is certainly a nice addition, except WTF is with that marginally OK song LA DO DA??? Seriously! Of all the older tunes that rock that they could add into their set La F'ing Do Da is the one they keep playing?!? WTF!!? How about Lovin You Is Easy, Edge of The Blade, Line Of Fire just to name a few.... but La Do Da? Sigh.... That is why my GF and I wont be spending money on anymore Journey tickets in the near future.

because of one song in a setlist? Seriously?!? I don't think I'd ever get to see any concerts if I boycotted every band that played a "marginally ok" song. Not that I'm a big fan of the song either, but still...

The song sucks, but then most of the pre-Cain stuff does.

I still think instead of City of Hope, Anything is Possible would flow nicely with their set and the audience would respond to it. It's a very Journey-like song, I don't see why it's never been played.

Not because of one song... because their set list overall is so dam stagnant. This band has a tremendous catalog to pull from.
Maybe I should have said, due to a poor se tlist, poor value and less than stellar experiences on the last two tours we don't want to spend good money on Journey concert tixs. But keeping songs like LDD in the set over and over are one prime example of how Journey makes it tough to justify spending the money on one of their shows if you've seen them dozens of times over the years like I/We have.
Maybe that's more clear...sorry.

Not my favorite setlist. Who's Crying Now should be in there, along with Message of Love, Ill Be Alright without You, Send Her My Love, When You Love a Woman, and Why Cant This Night go on Forever. I wouldnt even mind hearing Girl Cant Help It.
That setlist is too boring for my taste. I dont care much for pre cain stuff either.

Man I sure do. I can listen to the first 3 albums with Perry over and over and over. I'm burned completely out on Escape and Frontiers though.

Pre-Cain stuff is crappy without pre-Cain Perry's high-pitched,
soulful vox and Rolie's sexy, soulful singing/playing.
Happy to see this band decided to start trying to sell who they are
today ...someone out there may like it.

Yeah, sorry. A handful of good tracks and Rolie is no doubt a great player, but the songs largely blow. Cain elevated this band as much as Perry did, no doubt about it.

What is it with the stupidly bad set lists? Do they not realize that they have much better songs than "Keep On Runnin" "La Do Da" and "City of Hope?"

Keep On Runnin' is pretty good. And as much as I bitch about La Do Da, I admit I was singing along with the rest of 'em live. I just hated myself afterwards.

Don't feel bad. I love all three songs. Matter of personal taste I guess. Although, I do feel like I'm in the minority about all three of them.

To be honest though. The only song by Journey, in the Perry era, that I just can't stand, is Back Talk.

You're a helluva fan, Rick. Journey is my favorite band bar none and Perry & Chalfant routinely duke it out in my head for the title of favorite singer, but there are plenty of clunkers by these guys in my opinion. Back Talk, Baby I'm A Leavin' You, Homemade Love, etc. all qualify.

Not sure why they would have ever written Homemade Love. They stuck that clunker at the end of the record, where it should have been. It would have been a better album one song short of that one. The song, itself, has redeeming qualities, but they're nowhere in the lyrics.
