Got the chance last night to take in the Journey Tribute Band "Odyessy Road" in Wellington Fla. This band is from West Palm and they performed for FREE last night.
Must say they were pretty good..the music was good, vocals great in some areas, good in others but all in in all it was a great night of FREE Journey music.
They played a ton of songs I will list below in no special order.
This band is playing at the South Florida Fair on 1/26 in a "Battle of Classic Rock" Tribute bands
The singer actually said they were the only tribute band authorized to release the songs on a CD and they have a CD of 17 songs out for sale
Here is a list of what they played from my memory
Lights, Stay Awhile, AWYWI, Where Were You, Just The Same Way, LTS, Majestic, Feeling That Way/Anytime, DSB, Stone In Love, Still They Ride,WCN, Open Arms, SW, SHML, After the Fall, Faithfully, Girl Cant Help it, IBAWY, BGTY, Why Cant this Night go on FOrever, All these Years ( sad they just started doing this a few months ago)
Think I go them all
Just rememebered they did When I Think of You and Ask The Lonely

They're pretty good. I looked them up on YT and found several vids of them including this one which is a demo vid with samplings of 4 or 5 songs. The guitarist is really good - and even looks a bit like Schon... and the drummer's good too. He's all over his kit! Good stuff.

Yes the drummer was good..he even did a great drum solo. They were very entertaining that night. I liked them.. Will probably check them out at the fair in a couple of weeks. I have seen they play the West Palm Area a few times a year.

Their sound is stellar. The lead singer, to my taste, leaves much to be desired but still very good production value all around.

Would the singer losing weight help?

Putting on weight helped Ann Wilson. Even more power vocally after she got heavy.

Seem like a fun band to see. They can definitely play. Vocals not perfect or great, but not bad either. Looks like a good time.
Like how they change things up a little bit musically here -

Exactly was a good night...free BYOB brought my own cooler and snacks and me and my 6 year old son had a great night and heard a good show,
Vocals were good..Feeling That Way/Anytime and JTSW were Very good.. They said all the Keyboard player and Bass player sing lead in other bands they have played in..
Wonder how they got to be the only band to be able to release a CD with Journey songs on it

Great band and a nice bunch of guys, met them all at a Frontiers show in Orlando a few years back. Bubba has a great voice and Bobby the bass player is a solo songwriter as well.
Not sure about the CD thing, as you don't need "permission" to record a cover album. Frontiers did the same thing back in 2004 and sent in an advance royalty payment on 500 copies to both Journey's publishing administrators and Perry's as well...it's just a compulsory license that anyone can get. I know Kevin Chalfant did the same thing a few years back. So without any detailed explanation from the band, it's hard to understand exactly what they are claiming took place.

Thanks Jermery I had thought I saw /heard about KC doing a Journey cover album plus I was almost positive Frontiers had done one.
They mentioned something about getting in through a Loophole..no big deal I just was thinking I had heard different from what they said.
So this Saturday night they are in a battle of the bands @ the South Florida Fair against a Led Zep band, Kiss and Van Halen band I am hoping to go check them put again..
Does Frontiers ever make it too South Florida ? Would live to see you guys.
Thanks
