They will be Journey's opening act in Japan this March.

I think it's a great idea, especially for Miles. A chance for creating his own legacy instead of riding on his dad's coattails.

These kids sound good together. A song for a mellow mood, but a solid tune. I like Mile's playing and I think Madison is developing into a good singer. I think both have a good future ahead of them.

I don't see them doing too much collaborating beyond this cover. Country is a vocals first type of genre where as Miles definitely has what it takes to be a highlight guitarist in his own right.

I didn't imply that they would marry.

(It would be hilarious if they did and a few years down the road we dug up this post)

If he stuck with country his best bet would be to take the Keith Urban and Brad Paisley approach and make his guitar skills part of the act.

His guitar skills ARE his act. I think Miles is just doing this as a favor to Madison Cain. Really, this style isn't his gig. I saw him open for Neal's solo band a few years ago and the kid kid has chops. Country music definitely isn't his calling.

Guitar sounds great, vocals nasally at times but very good at others.

Nice tune, Miles' work reminded me of Neal's Higher Octave tracks. Also caught the live vid of Miles playing with Journey in Hawaii on LTS, and it floored me how much he sounds like dad.

Wow, Madison has improved a lot. She has a booming voice, although maybe there's some studio tuning being done there? And Miles is a cutie :o .

So far, I've only seen her do covers (seems that's what mostly been linked here). I think before we declare her a legitimate singer, she needs to record some original songs. That would be a better indication of how far she could go in the industry.

She doesn't need to write her own songs.. Nashville is a songwriters mecca...and is geared to churn out artists who sing songs written by the army of songwriters who live there and do nothing but write. It's been that way in Nashville for a long time. Even more established artists there rarely record/perform their own material.

Taylor Swift moved to Nashville as a young girl and was a staff writer before getting her deal... and (like her or not) she wouldn't be recording her own songs if they weren't decent and marketable.

Slucey...I didn't mean Madison needs to sing songs that she has written. "Original songs" -- not covers. I'd like to hear how she does on a brand new song, not something that's already been done.

I know all about the rich music history of the Nashville scene. Many of the C&W legends of yesteryear never wrote a tune in their lives...yet, they all had signature songs and hits to remember them by. I believe Dotty Parton and Johnny Cash were the trailblazers...recording their own songs.

Madison doesn't have to writing her own songs. Isn't her Dad around for that?

Tough being a musicians kid, critics around every corner. I think they both did great and I wish them well.

Are these links posted to solicit feedback and honest opinions? I would think, for any young artist starting out, any constructive criticism is welcomed.
