I thought that was one of SA's better live performances of Don't Stop Believing.
Good high notes and alot of feeling. If I were a singer, I'd hate to check out these forums.
Doesn't matter if you're Arnel, Augeri, or Bobby Kimball - everybody is getting torn up.

Liked DSB...not so much faithfully, although, I rarely like anything but the album version.

Cool performance ... especially since some thought he'd never sing again. Always liked Augeri's stage presence.

Steve sounded great in the those clips. Hitting the notes in the original key, nice. Dude is one of my favorite singers. Thanks for posting the links.

It's the American Idol/Glee generation.

I think that's the best Steve has sounded in a long time. DSB was definitely better, but they were both miles ahead of anything else I've heard him on. I really wish he still had the power in his voice to pull the Journey catalog off. I saw him with Journey 6 or 7 times, and he was one hell of a front man. MUCH better than the current situation. Arrival was the last Journey album I enjoyed.

Maybe Augeri and Pineda can alternate nights with Journey to preserve each other's voices and allow more extensive setlists.

A lot of people at MR Fest are going to find out that Steve Augeri still puts on a really enjoyable show.

Agree with this post. He sounded better than he has in years. Maybe they stepped it down in key? I wouldn't know.
His only week moment was the high note in DSB... "somewhere in the night..."
I loved Arrival too.

They only stepped it down a half a note here. MAN I miss seeing Journey with Steve A. Granted the last couple of years with him were REALLY rough, but he was one hell of a showman, and without him I may have never seen Journey live.

Huh? Sounds to me like he went for it and hit it. Didn't duck it.

"Soaring tenor" is the phrase you always hear associated with Perry. That DSB moment doesn't soar. He's reaching for it... but it seems just beyond his outstretched arms. But again -- he sounds great. Healthy. that's the important thing.

Love Steve A. I enjoy most of his efforts and always loved his stage presence. Dude has a certain calmness about him that I attach onto. Good for Steve A, he sounds great.
