Journey getting trolled hard on official FB Page

Postby Don » Fri Mar 08, 2013 7:58 am

This is embarrassing. I've only included a small snippet from the Manila Cancellation post (there's dozens more on that one post alone). Journey and social media don't seem to mix well.

Criticism and/or disinterest is one thing. This is another. And while the Pinheads are bad, Loons are invariably worse intellectually and morally. Just a dangerously stupid group across the board.

When Nomota took over the page in 2010, they should have deleted everything and built it from the ground up but they wanted to keep the six million likes the page had garnered in 2007 so they just deleted past Journey posts and kept rolling with it, basically keeping the fan likes but deleting everything any Perry/Augeri fans had written. By not deleting the likes, they left the door open for those people to come back and do shit like this. Chances are half the people would never have returned if the like had been deleted and the band's news was no longer in their news feed.
I'm not agreeing with the antics here. But for it to go on nonstop with the person not being blocked from the page seems ridiculous. It's always the same people. They don't even have to switch accounts because they are never blocked. And it's not like blocking is that hard. Two clicks and it's done.

It's like a free for all over there...Seems like half of them don't even know Journey's history.
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

Is it just this 1 guy....Roger Coffman...ranting away over there?
Doesn't take much for Giddy to have excuse to insult perryfans. I'll match my intellect against his any day.
Besides, he could just be a NealHater...there's a lot of them out there, too, you know...

No, there are a couple dozen people very active in all the posts over there bashing the band but not to the extent that this guy did. Looks like he finally got blocked.

You're not off to a good start already... I didn't insult Perry fans, I insulted Loons. It's the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist or a mud puddle and an ocean. There are plenty of Perry fans who happen to demonstrate a firm grasp of reality. That you apparently aren't among them is your problem, not mine.

How did you make those icons for your signature?

Yeah, I couldn't believe that their moderator didn't jump in there. The guy was a complete tool. He's got his opinions and that's fine, but to be SUCH a dick about it.

You can use programs like this or there are websites that will create them if you upload the images.

You can have static ones or scrolling ones like this.

Perry fans are those among us who respect and admire the man's vocal and creative talent and still perceive reality in a way common to your average person.
Loons are a cult of morons and sycophants who display the sort of obsessive, hero-worshiping myopia and penchant for revisionist history that carried Hitler to the Reichstag.

Devoted? I think you mean "deranged." I'm sure people identify as "Loon" without realizing just how much that group has been corrupted by rabid idiocy. Deb, Laura, Don, et al. might consider themselves Loons, but I don't.

Please, I have amiable relationships with plenty of established and ardent Perry fans here: Deb, Don, Laura, slucero, etc.

As far as the rest is concerned, this tit-for-tat was started by Loons and prosecuted for years around here. Now, the tide has turned, your ranks have thinned, and your tits are weak. Karma's a bitch, no?

Stop being so over-dramatic. I've been here longer than you and seen all the ugly war of words around here. You yourself liked to partake in such debauchery under an earlier pseudonym. That phase of MR have pretty much dissipated. Everybody enjoys a lively debate... personal attack is another.

Postby LookthruGlass » Fri Mar 22, 2013 8:18 am

The one thing I think is funny is Neal keeps crying about how his X and XMIL are hurting him and that her friends are diverting the LIKES and HACKING.

Whats funny is right now N & M shows...

I've given a fair amount of shit to Neal over the years but I think in this particular instance, he needs to stand firm and see this through. Don't settle. Take this woman to court and let the Judge handle it. Not for the money (though she should still pay the $75k or whatever the judge decides. Neal can donate the amount later if he wants). It's the character assassination that needs to be addressed by the court.
This woman's comments came AFTER the court had ruled regarding an increase in support. She did it out of spite, intending to inflict the most damage possible. The judge needs to drop the hammer on her and show to all the other exes that if you use the legal system, you must respect whatever outcome is decided. A temper tantrum because you didn't get your way has its limits. A court order stating what and what not this woman can say will be a lot more binding than a settlement that Schon's attorneys can draw up.

Don…I am the first to disapprove of pretty young things marrying a celebrity thinking they have it made for life. I’m a firm believer in making your own way… (not that I would turn down a marriage proposal from a rich guy, no chance..lol). But, public knowledge, these ladies make out like bandits…millions in settlement…tens of thousands$ a month alimony for life…living the high society lifestyle not from their own achievements…but from the man they were married to.

Tiger Woods did wrong…brought shame and embarrassment to his family. But, does anyone not feel just a little jealousy of how much Elin got out of the divorce settlement? She was a nanny and one-time catalog model, for pete sakes! Now, she’s living the jet set lifestyle, built M’s$ mansions in Florida and Sweden (who knows where else), no need to work for the rest of her life…all the money she could spend (and more) from just 5 years of marriage!

Neal certainly is not in that strastosphere of wealth and fame…but, supposedly, his womanizing ways on the road was what broke up the family. Maybe Amber (or her mother) feels she should have been taken care of for life, too, since she wasn’t the one that did wrong.

I just read Johnny Carson’s biography. 4 wives…the 1st did not get much, currently lives like a pauper. The next 2 ex’s (even though childless and less time in marriage) each got generous alimony, for life. The widow, of course, inherited his estate (worth Billions). It is said they weren’t even living together for the last 5 (or thereabout) years of his life. So, that means they were physically man and woman for maybe 2-3 years…something like that.

Haha…there’s the real world…and the world of celebrities.

Amber agreed to the amounts before and agreed to get her degree. Not only did she not get her degree, she used the money for her kids on herself, she had another kid but didn't marry the other guy when she is already complaining about not having money. The mom should be more concerned with her daughter's actions than Schon's. Looks like bad parenting when your adult kid is out there, still not taking birth control even when she is supposedly in such dire straights financially.

Whatever the mom THINKS should have happened didn't. Now she has to pay the piper for running her mouth. No one should feel sorry for her at all.

Didn't they just do a gig over in Japan recently? If so, I'd speculate that this is why they have a lot of active fans in Japan right now. 45 to 54 age group would put that age group at 15 to 24 30 years ago. That pretty much sounds just about right. If AP never joined I think the majority of fans world wide would be in that 45 to 54 age group range.

Now in regards to Vietnam, I have no idea, except if say the music is being featured on something which attracts attention to the band.

Although why does the one still show 2012?
Seems strange to me.
