Journey w/ Rascal Flatts this summer?

Postby JourneyFanJeff » Tue Mar 19, 2013 10:09 am

So, I don't know about everyone else, but I was really excited when Journey collaborated with Rascal Flatts for the Super Bowl this year. I've heard rumors that they are going to be planning some tour dates together. Has anyone heard any new information about this? Regarding where and when? I definitely cannot miss this.

They're supposed to be some soccer venues being looked at for the shows. They're looking for another country band to be an opener.

Looking at both bands schedules it may be well in to the summer, August or September even. I can't imagine it being more than a handful of gigs. With Arnel's irregular health issues, there's a lot of money to be lost if either band can't make a show, especially if they are trying to book larger venues.

I think they just said that to build some interest in the CMT Crossover special. These guys aren't gonna tour together.
Azoff sees to it that Journey only tours with other 80s has-beens.

Assoff needs to bow out. The only thing he does for them is promote their concerts in venues he either owns or gets a cut of the ticket sales from. They guy is a Dinosaur. Journey needs fresh management with some new ideas. I really think it is Azzoff behind what Journey plays or doesn't play in concert. I'm sure the band has their orders...... Azzoff probably doesn't know any albums after Frontiers. I doubt he'd even bother to listen to them, infact, I'll bet he hasn't .

Watching the documentary, it is readily apparent that their management only cares about touring profits. Naturally, this is their bread and butter, but if there is a larger vision at work here, it's hard to see. At one point in the film, Cain slightly mocks the fact that Herbie Herbert has already selected the name "Escape" for the band's seventh album. Herbie was the man with the plan.

I just bought tickets for Rascal Flatts for June in Florida.. Journey isn't part of the bill.
It would be pretty cool to see them both tour together, I'm wondering who would open & close the show. 8)
