This doesn't make a lot of sense. Should be Chickenfoot with Neal. And while I don't think Neal is exactly the guitar player Sach is, I know he can hold his own with them.

This is just Neal killing time before the tour starts again.

And a redux of Santana III (Santana IV? Abraxas Ocean?)? WTF, that's too much to hope for. Isn't it? I guess the only downside (if there is one), is that there'll likely be lots of Schon shredding, when he really stands out when thinking his solos.

Been watching/listening and (failing) to play along with this. Dang, Through the Fire was mis-tracked. I love this band and music even more the way they sequenced the concert

What happened to Satriani...is he no longer involved with Chickenfoot? I have both Chickenfoot discs and I think they rock!

Did you watch the clip? These guys are just jamming for Sammy's solo cd. Neal isn't replacing anyone.

He's still with Chickenfoot, but much like Chad Smith had his Chili Peppers thing to do, Joe is out working on a solo cd/tour. Also like Noble Cause mentioned the gathering is for Sammy's next solo album. Personally I wish Neal and Sammy would get together for a week or two and put together a new side project album.

I would be more interested in Schon/Hagar than a new Journey song.

For some odd reason this song and the Scorps Big City Nights have a similar sound to them in certain places in the song to me.

Sammy Hagar’s New Album Will Feature An Unusual Cover Song

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, ‘Wow, I’d sure like to hear Sammy Hagar cover Depeche Mode,’ then you’re in luck. In a new interview, Chickenfoot drummer Chad Smith says he recently helped the Red Rocker lay down a new recording of ‘Personal Jesus,’ along with several other tracks.

“He’s doing a record, I think it’s called ‘Sammy and Friends,’” the drummer tells WRIF 101. The album features guest appearances from various musicians that have played a role in Hagar’s career. “He’s got the old guys from Montrose . . . they did a couple tracks,” Smith relates.

He also shed a little more light on the tracks Hagar cut with what he jokingly called “the new HSAS,” featuring the Chickenfoot rhythm section of Smith and bassist Michael Anthony along with Journey guitarist Neal Schon. “He wanted to have me and Mike, so he called Neal Schon, who he’s played with before, and we did a couple covers and came up with a new song,” Smith says. “And it was really fun, man. Just a blast. I love playing with those guys. It’s so fun.”

Along with the Depeche Mode track, the musicians also cut a new version of ‘Going Down,’ which Chickenfoot have played live. So far there’s no release date for the album.

Read that yesterday on Classic Rock. Big WTF. Marilyn Mansuck and Johnny Cash already covered it, too. I hate that fucking song. Every time I saw David Gahan on TV back in the day I wanted to plant my shoe in his maw.

Guys need to stop wearing hats backwards. You automatically lose 25 IQ points when you do that.
