Almost 40 years?!

Wow, was just watching a recorded Winterland show from early 2014. This band has been around for 40 years! Hard to believe.

Loved the smokin' version of In the Morning Day near the end of the vid. Ross playing keyboards while Gregg is on the Hammond. Tickner on bass. Neal being the early-Journey version of himself - very tasty playing on an SG, no less

Early 2014, don't you mean 1974?

Yes, that's why I said _almost_ 40 years from that concert to now...

Neal had just turned 20 at the time and was shredding every bit as good as he does currently. Amazing how much their sound transformed to satisfy the label and create a more radio friendly sound. It would be interesting to know how different the outcome would have been had they stayed true to their original fusion/progressive/rhythm sound.

I think it was right after this show that Neal's fro got its own zip code.

almost 40 years, and still playing mostly songs from less than a 10 year period...
