If Neal Schon were to form a new super group like Planet US was to have been, who would you like to be in the band with him?

Just My Opinion...

Neal Schon -Guitar
Dave Meniketti -(Guitar and Lead Vocals)
Jack Blades-Bass

That gives you all the songwriting you need right there...

Jeff Kent - Keyboards
Matt Sorum-Drums

I have ALWAYS wanted to see Dave Meniketti teamed up with Neal, since they both are great melodic players and can both write good hooks. Blades would add the finishing touch and Jeff Kent from House of Lords would certainly contribute. Matt Sorum would do a solid job and not care much about songwriting input, just keeping it all together in the drum department.

the new video that Neal has on Youtube with Hagar, Anthony & Smith, leads me to say a new version of HSAS would be the way to go.

Chad Smith has proven he can play nearly any Genre, Michael Anthony is happy to play with people who appreciate not only his playing, but also his harmonizing. Sammy & Neal are two people who can't sit still for more than a few days, without wanting to do something different or new. They've done it once, what's to stop it from becoming a supergroup for a one or two off thing?

I was thinking the same thing when I read Andrew's news piece about Schon recording with Hagar. HSAS put out some good stuff back then, and I always love hearing Schon's collaborations with other heavyweights in the genre. Which has me thinking:

Guitars: Neal Schon
Vocals: Sammy Hagar
Drums: Steve Smith
Guitars & Vocals: Tommy Shaw
Bass: Michael Anthony
Keys: Jon Cain or Gregg Rolie

I think that would be a pretty awesome lineup!

I would have really loved for the Planet Us thing to have happened, beyond the two songs that they did record. Although, not if it meant that Journey would have broken up as a result.

I'd still love to see that lineup of Hagar, Schon, Castronovo and Anthony release an album, and tour. But I don't know how likely that is now, seeing as Hagar and Anthony have done the Chickenfoot thing?

Hagar would be my first choice to be the singer in a new super group with Schon. But Eric Martin would be a great choice as well.

How's Paul Rodgers sounding these days? And would he be willing to do a Hard Rock band these days?

How about Dennis DeYoung on vocals?

DDY would make a 2 hr show 4 hours, with his silly jokes and stories. Not knocking them, since I sat through them a few times on his solo touring. But I'd take him for keyboards, although not sure how rocking things would be with him being the key player.

DDY is a great singer and keyboardist, but I personally would hope that Neal would form a Hard Rocking band, and I don't think that DDY would fit in that kind of band. I do love Styx, however.

Who? ;)

Probably about the same as the Jonathan Cain albums, which, also, nobody mainstream knows about.

The first one made gold three months after release. I'm too lazy to check the numbers right now though.

I don't know about that. I've heard Chickenfoot played on hard rock stations in my area.

Chickenfoot has toured and released a live DVD in addition to the two studio albums.

If Jon Cain toured solo, he'd have to book the dates at Starbucks.

This is very interesting. Nancy and Lizzy would be great. That combination would be Heart on steroids. I don't know if Steve and Michael are a good fit for the front line of this group. This sounds more aggressive to me. Let's shake this up a bit and put Mike Portnoy on drums and Geddy Lee on bass and I would buy it.

Neal
Deen
Arnel

+ add a couple other ingredients. (players)

AP has a great rock voice and let loose of journey, where he doesn't have to live in the shadows of "you know who", he might do very well in a new venture, especially with Schon and Castronovo. Ross and Cain just can't be a part of it. Blades might really be an asset, as far as song writing, so I'd probably like to see him in the mix. I'd probably grab Rolie for the keys. I think Schon, Rolie and Blades would be a great songwriting team. If Deen wasn't the drummer I'd pick Steve Smith, but I feel like Deen is a heavier hitter, as far as flat out rock.

Oh hellz ya! That would be cool to hear and Jack and Eric have crazy good stage chemistry too, so would be cool to see a concert out of it as well.

Neal and Eric's stuff kicks ass......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzfaOS-2xQU

And same with Jack and Eric....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYtkJyq7Mgw

Not sure who Gregg Bissonette is, so I would probably pick either Deen C or Chris Frazier as drummer. :D
