"...as we are playing with two great rock bands [Whitesnake and Thunder] you will hear the edgier side of Journey. We have some great stuff from our Eclipse album that we’d like to play and the Generations record rocks pretty good so we’ll probably do some of the songs from those as well as the signature songs that people know us for."

This means they'll play City of Hope and Faith in the Heartland. We all know it. A set list with two other bands means a short list; the dirty dozen.

They have a bit more flexibility in the U.K. The fans over there love whatever they play, and aren't so stuck on the DD like the fans in the U.S. are. With that said, you're probably 100% correct on the song selection.

The still have not played Someone or Anything is Possible live. Both of those songs, I feel would go over well. Maybe they don't understand how to replicate those two songs live.......or Neal lied when he said he wasn't afraid of the album.

He would sure need to get Miles out there to TRY to replicate the layered guitars on some of the songs on Eclipse.

Because they're stupid. If they feel the heavier songs aren't going over, anyone can see those two would fit into the setlist and maybe a radio edit of others, shortening them. Anything is Possible is a great Journey song. I still love Resonate and unlike others, love love the intro.

Maybe they'll do something more along the lines of the Graspop Festival a few yrs ago. Still wish that was on the market somewhere. I was never able to cleanup that one copy that circulated for awhile.

As things stand right now, I would go see Thunder (whom I love) before I would ever go see Journey again (as long as they only play the DD).

US fans are stuck on the DD because Journey backed down quickly and only give us the DD. Going back to 2001, if Journey had stuck to their guns they could be playing a variety of tunes from all eras...

Absolutely pathetic. I know who I am not ever paying to see in concert again.

SOS

Neal made a post on Facebook that people started leaving after the act before they took the stage.

After looking at that set-list, it's pretty obvious that the band did not rehearse for this tour or give a shit. Good for potential ticket-buyers to know.

That appears to be true for the most part. I can't imagine them keeping that same setlist for all the shows there. What's the point of doing shows with Whitesnake, Deep Purple, etc. if you're gonna play Open arms, Stay Awhile and so forth?

"First time I have ever left a gig early, Thunder and Whitesnake were enjoyable but Journey, fuk me. :x "

"Thunder and Whitesnake were both great. I had enough of the little dwarf from journey jumping about after 20 minutes. Complete load of gack."

"I was actually really impressed with Thunder. Was never too keen on them, but they put on a good show, and made me want to give them another go.
Whitesnake were great fun, Coverdale's voice was a little shaky here and there, but it didn't get in the way of the songs. Thought the tribute to Jon Lord was very fitting.
And Journey...well, I like the songs, and enjoyed listening to them, but I didn't really want to look at the stage. It was just too weird."

"Journey. we left with the many hundred after 3 songs. very light weight sounds with that prat jumping about like a fairy. god aweful performance."

They'd better have a "come to jesus" meeting soon! Otherwise this leg of the tour is gonna bomb. What's frustrating is that they are better than this. (now I sound like a coach), but it's true. Drop your cocks and grab your socks and sound off like you've got a pair!

Thunder freakin rocks. Even though they are technically on hiatus right now, they rule in the UK. Show should have journey opening, whitesnake, and thunder closing. Journey better get rid of the light weight stuff and pull out the rock to keep up with these boys.

By now every potential Journey concert visitor should be familiar with Pineda`s stage antics,if not and you are offended by it ...then fuck you.
Whitesnake and Thunder are Hard Rock bands and Journey is not...Journey could spice up their setlist with heavier songs ,which they have, but the true essence of the Journey sound is not Hard Rock... it is Soul.

No one is going to mistake Coverdale for a "dwarf" or "fairy." This guy is tweeting before six every morning. He is a twitter monster big time. Very open with his fans.

From tonight's Glascow show:

Cool looking Marshall amps. I like the red. Seems I have not seen Journey with such a stack of amps lately, or they are way back somewhere.

The lack of any real variety is THE biggest reason beyond price that I wont attend any more Journey shows. Come-On guys mix it the *uck up a bit! That setlist is just sad. Tak out the ballads and add Resonate and Faith in The Heartland at the very least. how about going back furhter and doing something of Evolution or Departure that rocks... how about Edge of The Blade!!? Dam!
