All perry-era songs....
Their mantra used to be: "We're more than just a nostalgia band!" Guess they don't give a damn anymore.

Who cares. They're packing it in soon. They're nostalgia now more than anything. They had a nice run in the peak of the Arnel-era from '07- '10. Now with nobody responding to Eclipse at all and many of the members pretty much about to do their own thing, does it even matter? The last peak is over until the farewell tour. No need to bash them, let them rock out to their nostalgic ways. The general public is the only ones that matter now in the final years. Eclipse was for the diehards and it fell flat after a success with Revelation. It'll be over soon. Enjoy the music while it lasts on-stage.

Glad I saved my money on this one..Tickets $100 and you get Journey with no opening act ( thats what was said on the radio interviews) 15 songs ??? When I saw Journey would be playing 2 days in a row with no opening act I though they would at least do 20-25 songs mix in some new and some deeper cuts.. But 15 songs ??? What were they on stage for 90 minutes.. Crazy

Thiis is exactly what I was afraid of, and why I passed on this year's concerts ... I saw them in 2011 and 2012 at Cruzan, for like $40 and $32, but there was 3 bands each year, and a 4-hour total show ... great value for the money ...

For $100 - $200 per ticket this year, at the Hard Rock, with no opening act, I definitely would have expected a lot more - that's basically the same amount of songs they played at Cruzan Amphitheatre, the last two tours ... What warranted the increase in ticket prices for this year's "solo tour" ?

Just sayin' ...

I'm willing to support this band to the end, but where is the value in their show at this point? No extended songs / endings, no deeper tracks, no tracks off of Revelation or Eclipse?

The band wants us as fans to respect and support them every year, but respect is a two-way street, and its earned - they don't appear to respect us any longer - just wishing to take our hard-earned money in difficult economic times ...

A lot of bands are getting away with continued higher ticket prices by bringing back a member of the band that has been long-gone, and going on tour - a "mini-reunion" if you will ...

Rolling Stones tour - Mick Taylor is back as a "Special Guest" ... He plays about 3-4 numbers per night now ...

The Rascals - Reuniting all 4 original members for the first time all together since 1970, including Eddie Brigati ...

The Monkees - Touring last year and this summer (a full 25-show tour) with Mike Nesmith returning to the fold ...

The Eagles - about to launch their "History of the Eagles" tour with original Eagle, Bernie Leadon returning to the band for this tour (2-year tour supposedly, possibly their last) ... This is his first time back with them since he left in 1975, 38 years ago ...

Its not a complete reunion of all the former members of the Eagles, including Felder, but its a step in the right direction, and fans will come to these shows for the novelty factor of the "reunion" factor ...

Perhaps its time for Gregg Rolie to come back to Journey ... I know they'll never get Perry, but at least its something new and interesting for the fans ... a new hook ...

I like the idea of Rolie or Smith coming out for a few numbers.

I don't think Journey wants to take fans money in difficult times. I think they expect only those that can afford to go will go. I see two shows a year maybe now because my priority is not spending all that money. Though I do think all bands can lower the prices. Pat Benatar is playing here tonight. I've never seen her and really want to, but I just can't see forking out her prices, especially when there hasn't been a new album in years. It's gotten crazy.

Truly pathetic. Apathy has set in and the band is washed up. The lineup doesn't rehearse so they keep playing the same dozen songs over and over again. Is this why they reformed in 1998? They have become the very definition of a nostalgia act. Wayne Newton has better set lists. If Neal is reading this, he should be fucking ashamed.

Maybe they just got tired of watching fans go to the bathroom during the new songs and so they figured if the fans are paying all that money, better give them what they want.

What I always wished for with popular bands I like was a two pronged tour. When they come to a city, they do the big show with all the hits, but the next night they play a club for the real fans and they maybe even announce - no hits will be played. And they do all the hardcore stuff, new stuff. I'm sure that's not realistic, financially. But what a nice payoff for longtime fans.

Could I justify buying tickets to a Journey show to hear all the same songs I've heard for years? Nope.

Saw Melissa Etheridge for the 8th time the other night. A few standards, of course. But so many songs I'd never heard her play before. Old songs. And a few from the new album. If you look at her tour, every night is a bit different. She has a catalog like Journeys where there is a wealth of music to choose from - so she uses that. But I think her fans are more accepting - by far - than the general Journey concert-goer these days. They go to see and experience Melissa, not hear a particular song.

I'm biased I guess, but here's a great setlist from earlier this week that just so happens to have been at this game about as long as Journey has ... still releasing relevant records ... still selling out multiple-night residencies and sheds across the country ...

Let's face it – Journey is riding the wave of nostalgia for a few of their hits that has already crested, and they are giving the masses who are still along for the ride what they want to hear. A band like Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers is saying, "okay, we're touring again this year. Next year we'll make a new record and tour again and then we'll keep doing this until we can't do it anymore," where Journey in all likelihood (at least in interviews Cain and Pineda have hinted at) will be doing this tour, then Schon will be doing some solo stuff and a Santana gig, and then really at that point there's no other plans.

So the setlist on this tour pretty much makes sense. Edge of the Blade and Dead Or Alive are a few rarely played classics ... I am surprised at how short the show was though – could have easily put a couple post-Perry "hits" in there and everyone would have still been happy.

Anyway, compare that to a 22 song setlist with maybe 11 or 12 recognizable hits, and then another 11 deep cuts, covers, and experiementing ... that's why some bands can still have fun onstage and be energized ... by shaking things up year after year ... they've cultivated a fan base that allows them to do that.

I agree with Jeremy and the rest of the folks...there is no reason to not do a 15-20 song set and give people 5 to 8 post Perry songs or some deep tracks from the pre Escape era. It's just freakin' pathetic that they continue to tour with these type of setlists.

Honestly, at this stage, playing their hits/fan favorites is plenty. As someone said, they're probably winding down. Nobody other than a few of the ultra-faithful will even care if they put out another album. Hell, I saw a sea of people sit down and take bathroom breaks during "Keep On Running", "Anytime", and "BGTY" like they had no idea what song it was. They are a band lucky enough to have a few songs seemingly etched into the global consciousness (DSB, Open Arms, the DD in general)...most bands don't get that in their lifetimes. Let them enjoy it, cuz there's not a lot of time left on their clock, IMO.
