Would it ever be considered..?

Postby PianoMan1986 » Thu Aug 08, 2013 3:17 pm

I know off the bat that the demand (and money) probably isn't there, but looking at the enthusiasm from the band and fans alike with the variety of material played, should/would Journey consider this and if so, would you buy it if it was released? Just pondering with Schon's ongoing mention of possibilities for the future (e.g., re-recording Augeri era tracks, returning to Evening With style tours, working on new material, etc.).

If they release another album of NEW material, it has to be epic and they have to PROMOTE the shit out of it on social media, including TV appearances and get it out there on iTunes, google play, amazon...etc. Have a song or 2 included in a Hollywood blockbuster film. And for cripes sake, PLAY THE NEW STUFF LIVE :!: :!: Have some balls!

If Perry ever comes back around (still has voice, health, desire, etc), doing a Vegas thing would probably be the only way Journey would play live. I just can't imagine the 'classic lineup' doing a typical tour. They're beyond that. Big band reunions just don't need to live on a bus and hit every shed in the country. Just play some select major city dates & various festivals, but also do a Vegas residency.

And btw, maybe Vegas is what Santana will do. Doesn't Carlos already live there?

That album will have to be a classic, stereotypical Journey album too. There gonna have to pull some tricks out of the Escape and Frontiers bag for it to sell like crazy.

No.

They are a heritage act with a semi clone singer.

To their credit they have attempted new material over the last few years.

No one cares.

To try and clarify a bit on what I'm getting at:

Would it be worthwhile for Journey to have a brief Vegas residency and perform/record shows performing certain albums in their entirety similar to what Def Leppard has done with Hysteria?
