"Right now, were talking about it [recording]" Schon shared, "and once we begin, it usually goes pretty quick."
"We've talked about going at it a different way this time," he explained. "We're all spread out now, but in the '80s, we were all in the San Francisco area, so we'd all meet at our clubhouse, which was my rehearsal space, and we'd all just jam and work stuff out.
There's a different thing that happens when you're all in the same room together versus writing your parts and sending ideas back and forth," he continued. "I'm looking forward to going old school, with everyone back in the same room together. We need to get that unity and chemistry back."http://www.urbantulsa.com/gyrobase/Cont ... id%3A63187Have any of the post-Perry cds been written as a cohesive unit? I doubt it. Maybe a song or two.

Great news. I require new music to follow a band. After 2.5 years and not playing much of Eclipse live O found my interest waning. This zips it right back up.

I don't want to seem negative here, but why bother recording new material if you're not going to support it? Seems like a wasted effort to me. Don't get me wrong, as a majorJourney fan, I'm always excited to hear new music but it frustrates me to no end when they DON'T PLAY it LIVE!

Normally, I would say to record material that sits nicely alongside the 'Dozen. But, as was stated, if they don't play new stuff live it's kinda moot.
They already have a ton of older songs that people sat down through when I saw them last year. Aside from "us" here, the majority of the ticket buyers just want a night out and don't care about songs outside of their established favorites...they don't care about being won over with new songs.
The older crowd wants to have a few drinks and dance to "Lights" & "DSB" and could care less about most of the other songs...the younger crowd may know "DSB" and what their parents played for them, but that's it.
When the crowd is sitting down and hitting the beer line during "Keep On Running" and "Be Good To Yourself", they're certainly not going to care about new songs.
All that said, if they just want to record music for their own sake, put it out and play it live for their own enjoyment, and not caring if it sells huge numbers or not, then more power to them.

This is more my thinking....although I will always be disappointed if new tunes aren't played.
