Sing (Movie) 1989 Lost AOR Musical

Postby Final Frontiers » Fri Feb 07, 2014 11:12 am

I saw this movie on video in 1989 at the time I thought it was very cute. Sing is about a group of inner city kids who want to win a New York City high school musical competition. So it was basically Sister Act 2, Glee, High School Musical, Pitch Perfect, and Hull High all wrapped up into one and before it became cool. My biggest problem with it was that it built up all the excitment for the big show and then cut away from the musical numbers AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!!!!! Makes no sense, no one had faith in musicals back then.

It starred Lorraine Bracco, Peter Dobson, Cuba Gooding, Jr, and Patti LaBelle.

I haven't seen this movie since 1989. But I never forgot it.

Why am I posting it here?

Just look and see who worked on the soundtrack:

Dean Pitchford co-wrote every song. Jonathan Cain co wrote "Sing" with Martin Page. Richard Marx co-wrote "(Everybody's Gotta) Face The Music". Desmond Child and Diane Warren co-wrote "Something To Believe In". The version of "One More Time" that's in the movie doesn't have Michael Bolton. I wish they'd released the movie one too and the uninterrupted musical numbers.
