I was trying to see if I could find any other recent Jeff Scott Soto concert videos of him still singing Journey. But as of 2013 there's only this one of Don't Stop.

I was kinda hoping he was still doing "I'll Be Alright Without You". Someone's You Tube comment described JSS best as Rock & Roll's Booty Call that answers in the middle of the night but when the daylight comes he does the walk of shame out the door and is never asked to permanently join a top tier band. BTW, did you hear? Adam Lambert is going to tour with Queen. :D

Have you all ever heard of Journey-Mike or Mike Flynn? Or Hard Drive/Another Journey? They are a Journey cover band. Here's there "I'll Be Alright Without You".

From their website.

In a nut shell Journey-Mike is the most accurate, to a tee Steve Perry vocal impersonator that exists. This is not just hyperbole. If you see a show , listen to one of his Youtube videos or check out his mp3's on his website there can be no doubt. Hands down this guy takes the trophy as one of the best unsigned singers on Earth.

Starting out his career in Clifton NJ he began singing in high school. He pushed hard to develop his craft and his voice and began touring throughout the mid-west and the south in his early twenties. Singing 6 nights in a row between 4 and 7 hours a night will do that.

In 1999 he moved to Mississippi to be part of an ensemble 50's and 60's troop called Pure Gold. This is where, under the tutolage of several great performers he honed his stage presence. Not only that, but he also learned the art of quick costume changes which is part of his shows to this day.

If you are looking for a performer who stays on the stage look somewhere else because this guy is all over the place. You will be engaged by not only his voice but his complete performance. He WILL get you in the aisle dancing.

Now for the stats:

Journey-Mike has a 4 octave range, perfect pitch and a knack for harmonies that is unmatched.
He can play keys and guitar and has an extensive costume wardrobe for just about any occasion.
If you find a better Steve Perry vocalist anywhere I would have to see it to believe it.

Either the video for I'll Be Alright Without You has been slowed down somehow, or the tempo they are playing at is a waltz...

The closest I've ever heard anyone come to Perry timbre and tone wise is Juan Del Castillo with DSB Journey

Agreed, on both counts. The guy has a nice tone, but that was way too slowed down for my liking. And the delivery just isn't there for me either, but nice voice though.

JDC gets my vote for closest to Perry's on the Journey material. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X2SQLV_HN4
I've seen DSB live and JDC has the delivery/tone/timbre on anything from LTS and WITS to the Frontiers and ROR era material.

Enjoyed that clip. I like when Jeff and BJ sing together, their voices very much compliment each others. Probably my favorite............... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Emiz-MBZ0e0

I still like Kelty the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOzDyVCPAbs
The audio on this is kinda shitty, but at least it's still better than the Journey Live in Manilla dvd.
