This morning I managed to catch "Don't Stop Believin'" on my local radio station for the second time. Nothing out of the ordinary about that right? Well, this is one of those stations that "Only plays the 90s and Today".

I remember when stations played the "60s, 70s, & 80s" (Never that much 60s though), the "70s, 80s, & today" and then the "80s, 90s, & today". *SIGH*

I heard "DSB" early in the morning pre-dawn. Right when they play a lot of the other big hits of the day including "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, "Let It Go" from Frozen, "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry, etc. Yet, DSB is most certainly not the 90s or today. And this wasn't the Rock Of Ages version or the Glee one. This was pure Journey. Has DSB truly managed to transcend time? I can think of a handful of songs that have managed to make a big comeback decades after they were released. "Stand By Me" from the Stephen King movie, "My Sharona" from Reality Bites, a bunch of Motown songs from The Big Chill. Somehow, DSB manages to pop up fresh and new every couple of years like it's being rediscovered by a new audience perpetually.

Has anybody else heard DSB on radio stations other than classic rock recently?

That radio station I mentioned, Wednesday morning as soon as my alarm went off it started playing "Don't Stop Believin'". Later on the way to work XM 80s on 8 played Open Arms. Yesterday, they played Pitbull & Ke$ha's "Timber", Bon Jovi "Livin' On A Prayer", and then A Great Big Something's "Say Something". They now say they have the "best variety" and don't mention the decades. But right after that they did mention that they would play some 80s hits. Oh yes, Gen X refuses to let go of the past.

In Texas, I guess they are playing some AP music over the radio.
Friend said it was promo for GEXA Pavilion concert.
First time, they said. Always before was SP music.
