Flyers were handed out after Stone Temple Pilots’ show in Los Angeles last night that ripped the band and promoted Scott Weiland’s new album Blaster. It is unknown if these were people paid by or associated with Weiland, Weiland’s management/PR (Lucas Keller/Milk & Honey is Weiland’s management, Liz Ottiniano of Diane Barton Media is his PR) or were just Weiland fanboys, or all of the above.

Purple posted the following on Below Empty, “Final funny note, outside the show there were a couple people handing out flyers that caught my eye. It had a picture of Blaster’s album cover on it and I thought they were just promoting it to see if any of the STP fans hadn’t heard of it. On it though, it said ‘I bet tonight felt like watching…. Journey without Steve Perry, Queen without Freddie Mercury, or Van Halen without David Lee Roth.’ On the back it said ‘Pick up a copy of Scott Weiland’s new album Blaster’.. It felt as though they were picketing the show haha.”

STP fired Weiland and replaced him with Chester Bennington in 2013. The flyers were also handed out in Seattle, so it may be a marketing strategy by whoever is responsible. You can see photos below of the flyers, which verify the story. Desperation No. 5.

As bad as Diamond Dave sounds I would rather see Van Halen without him.

I prefer Van Halen with Sammy Hagar.

And even though Steve Perry in his prime was my favorite Journey singer, they're still great with Pineda or Augeri. Plus, Schon is the most important member of the band IMO.

And even though Mercury was perfect for Queen, I'm a bigger Paul Rodgers fan.
