He says he writes to SP all the time, and sometimes SP writes back. Does anybody else have a hard time believing this?

I picture them sitting there in their rooms writing to each other with their old-fashioned quill-pens.

I agree with Neal when he says, "The bravest thing we've done was probably moving on after Steve went. It definitely was not easy, climbing back up the mountain, but we worked our asses off for the last 18 years, rebuilding the band and the audience, and now we're back there."

From being made fun of in the pages of Entertainment Weekly ('DO stop believin!' was their review of Arrival) to being goofed on on the reality show Blind Date, the band has come a long way. Other bands (see Genesis post-Phil or Van Halen with Gary) would have thrown in their cards a looong time ago.

Some fortunate things happened benefiting Journey greatly, not the least of which was DSB. Other old-time bands didn’t get that good fortune to stay relevant.

I don’t know about the writing to Steve all the time part. Could be just through channels. Basically means the same thing… and I suspect Neal, being the publicity savvy veteran that he is after all these years, wants fans to believe in the literal sense. I do believe he’s sincere in wanting to be friends.

Neal mentioned wandering up & down Broadway at 15 brought back memories of those days in S.F. I remember the bright lights illuminating in that part of the town in the evenings…the nightclubs, strip joints, cheap eating places. He’s only a year older and got into those clubs … I didn’t. Hmmm…been gone for so long, wonder what Broadway is like now?
