So, do you think they'll use...

So, you think they'll use click tracks with Smith being back on the kit? I could be wrong, but I thought some fans commented in years past that the band had Deen play to a click. Just curious what people think.

Good question. If they use it, it wouldn't be because Steve Smith needs it. I could see it necessary for songs where Neal has piped in pre-recorded rhythm guitar. His new incarnation of the Who's Crying Now solo comes to mind.

I stated this in another thread, but I want to mention it again:
I hope Neal records videos of their rehearsals for the tour and posts some stuff to youtube. Not only would it be something I'd love to see, but it could be a great promotion device for the tour: The return of the instrumental lineup that gave you Evolution, Departure, Escape, Frontiers, etc., etc.

You know it's a slow news day when the use of a click track is the topic of conversation.

Yes, almost certainly. They need the click track to play along with the pre-recorded backing vox.

I think there are other things flown in besides vocals.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Such as what? I know they added some extra guitars on a track or two when I saw them in 2011, but are you referring to anything else? I haven't seen them since then, but going to see them in June (mainly to finally see The Doobie Brothers) and am curious what to listen for.

Just extra keys. Vocals are kind of the "cardinal sin" to fly in- but tbey do. Keyboards, meh, who cares?
