This is a fantastic, informative and very personal interview with Smith. He talks about Journey (then) at 18:00 and (now) at 42:00, but the entire interview is worth checking out. The video is shot beautifully, and Dom Famularo does a great job with this interview...he's also no slouch himself behind the drum kit! Give some of his videos a view as well for his dynamic and innovative playing.

I have always been impressed with Steve Smith. His playing is great and well recognized, but every interview I have seen with him over the years convinced me that he is just a normal guy who gets to do what he loves for a living. He appreciates that and doesn't take it for granted by continuing to learn, educate others, and grow as a musician.
