I was there that day. The crowd up front was all primarily dead heads. Attendance has been listed at 300K, but I think there was much closer to a million people there in the immediate area that day. A lot of music and Robin Williams had already gone on by the time Journey came up. I think must the upfront crowd was just ready for the Dead at that point.
