Chicago just got another Cetera/Scheff replacement. They should be good for a little while.

Meh, he was never missed by the average fan. Only sang on one hit, and that was a co-lead.

Cetera is the one who they haven't been able to replace. Scheff used a falsetto to emulate Cetera's voice. Was never the same, as Cetera is considered the voice of Chicago for the most part. Certainly the most recognizable.

actually sang on multiple "hits", 2-3 trade off vocals and one his own, the forgettable what kind of man, and the terrible We can last forever.
But when Chicago really went down hill wasnt just the David Foster ballads but even more so the Dianne Warren ballads.

Sometimes bands needs just to go out on the high road, what next, replacing Beatles, Who, Stones, Zeppelin, Doors, Floyd core members?

Believe me the roadies will stay busy with all this BS Bro Country and Rap.

That is pretty amazing. I watched several of their videos. The sound quality of the recordings is excellent, better than anything I have seen from Chicago in years. That level of recording quality will highlight any flaws in the music. These guys are tight!

It is in the documentary that everybody critiques because it came out after the HOF induction.

I don't remember the exact words but Hendrix was complaining about the stress of being "famous". One of the guys in Chicago spoke up and said he wished he had that problem. Hendrix said something like, "You have three lead singers, a horn section and a guitarist who is better than me. You'll eventually be famous." And, later on in the documentary, after Kath died, I think, they refer back to this and said they now understood what Hendrix was talking about.

This was just after the bit where they were touring with Janis Joplin. The band met her backstage. She dropped her hat (or something) on the ground and told one of the guys to fucking pick it up for her. He replied something like, "Fuck you, you pick up your own fucking hat." From that time on she was friends with the band...and supposedly she shared how she obtained stage presence to put the audience in her hands, or whatever....Not sure I believe that bit cuz I don't see it.

Irrelevent...they have been through something five guitarists since his death. In fact, their career hit a huge bump on the next couple albums because they had lost direction. Kath was not just a guitarist but a leader and provided direction for the band's sound. I mean, they went almost DISCO without Kath. They had to find a brand new sound and redefine the band in order to move on. But, they were never really able to replace him....they made due without him.

I remember years ago when "Night and Day" was out, there was a rumor that Neal was going to be their next guitarist. I shot that one down. Someone else commented that it was too bad because Neal is the level of guitarist the band needed to go back to the level of playing of the Kath years...instead of the pop band they became in the 80's or the ballad band they became after that.

Richard Page, of Mr. Mister was Chicago's first choice to replace Cetera.

And Kelty should be in Journey. That dude KILLS it.

I have often wondered if Page regretted not taking the Chicago job. He had a couple of hits with Mr Mister and has done OK with session work and song writing. He spent some time in Ringo's All Starr Band with Gregg Role as well.
